  • do I return my unopened QRevo to good guys $803?

I originally wanted the maxv but the $1268 deal never came back. Is it worth the extra $400..

    • Yeah i gave up and bit the bullet a few weeks ago too. Its fine, but i think i would of preferred the hot/warm water feature of the MaxV. Im tempted to add warm water too it.

      • +1

isn't the warm water only for the cleaning the mop, it doesn't use hot water to mop the floors.

How are you finding the obstacle detection?

I think I'll stick with the Q Revo, and keep my $400

        • We tidy up before running it so cant really comment.

          • @Xizor: Yea, you'll need to tidy up before cleaning.

It can avoid big items such as thick cables/cords, shoes… but not the smaller ones (charging cables, coins…) We don't have pets, so not sure about pet waste…

            • -1

@zed264: If you got pet waste you got bigger problem's than the Robo's ability i reckon. Our 2 dogs are non shedding.. if only the Ms was!

              • @Xizor: I had this is issue with the MaxV. It dragged the waste ove the carpet and around the house. Was a big mess to clean up afterwards and the machine itself.

Interesting on the app it detected the pet waste and marked it on the map, but didnt do much else to avoid it.

        • I have this and a S8 Pro Ultra for different floors. This has been good and happy with it.

Yes warm water is for cleaning. I find the water runs out pretty quickly though and it keeps going back to refill. There is a part of in the house which has steps so i need to physically move it to clean. As its unable to return to the dock to refill due to the stairs, it mops without the water whereas the S8 pro is able to do it. I think it is due to the level of water it uses for cleaning even on the lowest setting as i belive the tanks are standard size anyway.

For carpets i prefer the S8 due to the double roller, makes a big difference if you have family that shreds a lot of hair.

    • I bought Q Revo for $730 at good guys at am obsessed with it. I also originally wanted a maxv but Q revo has worked perfectly. I don't think the flexi arm is worth it for $400. If you vacuum often the dust doesn't really build up anyway on edges anyway.

      • you mean that trunk of a @blushingelephant has no purpose?

I understand the models in ascending order is QRevo -> QRevo S -> QRevo MaxV

    Comparison of models

  • Ah.. just received my order last week from Mobileciti :(

  • Don't know if its a good buy or not. I'm super confused.

Was planning on buying something from the list here:
    https://vacuumwars.com/best-vacuum-cleaners/robot-vacuums/

I would like but dont need the little arm that comes out, otherwise this seems pretty comparable to the other models on the top list?

      • My old s5max is still great so the differences I see seem unimportant.

New models seem to come out every second week with new features/improvements, so that list is out of date by the time you purchase anything… You may as well pull the trigger on anything that you think is suitable.

I bought this MaxV a couple of months ago. We have a single-level all hard floor, and the mopping is good, vacuuming is eehh, obstacles avoidance is bad (make sure you put away cords, cables,etc.. before cleaning), and you need to clean the machine and dock every so often. Also, add to the budget of those consumable accessories every 3-6 months, i.e. vacuum bags, washing liquid, replacement brushes, mops, etc…

All in all, it saves us time and keeps the floor reasonably clean, so it's not a bad buy for us.

Found some people upgrading from the same model as I am and they think this is a big upgrade. Enough for me. Purchased!

      • Does “vacuuming is eehh” mean good or bad?

Basically does “eehh” mean “meh” or something else?

    • I want the dreame x40 ultra but still too expensive

  • I am interested in finding out if it's worth it and how good it is really for both vaccum and mop function as well as navigation

    • I upgraded from Ecovac T9+ and very satisfied with Qrevo MaxV
my T9+ not able to return to dock for various reasons 50% of the time (eg. robot got stuck, cant find the way back, obstacle tangled with the roller etc.)
used the MaxV for a week and these issues never happens

While my home isn't that dirty
I am quite surprise when looking into the dirty water tank

      • Amazing to know. Not sure if this is discontinued model. Ecovacs aren't that great it seems

        • discontinued model doesnt means too much for robot vacuum
the current MaxV firmware is already very stable (according to vacuum wars, great improvement compared to the initial firmware)
warranty will still be covered and consumable accessories are still available

Given these companies (eg. Roborock, Ecovacs etc) are releasing new models every few months
its likely most models will be discontinued from first release in 1 year or so anyway

  • Been waiting on a decent deal on a robot vac for ages… without going for the ecovacs again, because their app was shithouse.

  • +1

Waiting for master to be on sale

    • It was on sale at Amazon last week for about 1700

      • Grey import though. GL with warranty

  • Does Roborock Qrevo MaxV support hair cut?

    • +1

I need the anti tangle things too

      • For Dreame, the hair cut function is called "Tricut brush". Do you know if Roborock has similar function?

  • Surprising, if this deal happened during black friday it would've popped off. Not so much now - why is that?

    • Because landtax bills have been sent out in Victoria…we are getting screwed over twice here

    • I guess I would buy it if it appears during that time… I was too crazy so I have to control myself now :(

  • Finally got one, thanks OP

  • I have this unit. Highly recommend it. The app, room scanning, vacuum power, mopping function is really good. The robot will get to 90% of the floor space and you still need to vacuum/mop the areas it can't. But you no longer vacuum or mop large areas.

  • You can even have video calls with the vacuum from the phone to the house. It sends pictures if it finds an obstacle.
