Extension lead which one

What’s the better extension lead and if so reasons is one better than other?
Obviously one is cheaper than the other and one has more reviews than the other.
But wondering if one will be better than the other or is brand of one better.

Probably will go with untra charge lead from Amazon due to the credit I have on my account which makes it way cheaper than Bunnings one.
But anyone know how thick the cable is on the untra?
As I was looking to get this.

But I noticed it only goes up to 9mm even the Bunnings lead says it’s 9.9mm so even that would be no good these waterproof boxes any similar alternatives boxes I was going by this one due to well priced and reviews not too bad.
But on what I see from looking closer the Bunnings lead will be to big if I had got this and I’m not sure about the ultra as can’t find how thick it is.

Of subject a bit I noticed a 15a to 10a adapter in Aldi are they any good? Also on what I seen it did not make sense if I remember a black lead 1.5 which maybe goes into your power point which was 10a bit looking inside it also looked like 10a where you inside as well not sure how that would work? They did have a 15a lead can’t remember the length and not sure the quality
But maybe I best stick to my first two options in my post and I’m done.
As getting a Aldi lead I think was $24 and an adapter $49 which was not bad considering they are more just the adapter alone from Bunnings not sure if Aldi was waterproof
    What’s your thoughts

  • Do these fit (link below) an ultra 10mm thick extension cable? As in my cable options on this thread.

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/arlec-ip44-outdoor-safety-box_p0…

I noticed in Bunnings it says 9mm for above linked item and there extension cable was 9.9mm, I asked a seller online what the ultra cable from Amazon was as can’t find the info he said 10mm which probably sounds right if Bunnings one is 9.9mm and ultra 10mm

Now what options do I have to keep them waterproof as link above tells me probably too small? As cable bigger.

I just emailed Bunnings and I must have mentioned connecting two extension leads together but probably my error is not two extention cables together it’s the spa cable is 5m long with built in rcd and it plugs into yes supposed to be a power point.
But as power point is futher away it’s connected to extension cable to get to that power point as mentioned in my post a few times.

So they never really answer my question they said iI should not attach two extension cables together.

But I been through this discussion already on here with doing that and that a 1.5mm is best to use and nothing less even though I know several people out there who have just used a standard 1.0mm cable which no way would use method and they have done so for several years as well.

I’m not sure why Bunnings even mentioned this yes I’m connecting the spa cable which comes with pump/filter built in then extension cable to get where it needs to go so it kind of is same as two extension leads?

But all i wanted was what they have that fits the 10mm possibly cable as that side will be 10mm think approx.

I am assuming people replying to my thread knew I what was doing this spa with spa cable which is pump/filter with rcd built in gets plugged into 10m extension lead and then that gets plugged into power point

For the amount of obsessive hand-wringing that's happened in this thread, you should just hire a sparkie to custom make a perfect length cable using totally over the top AWG10 gauge wire and standard 10A plugs on either end. And never worry about it again in your life.

Not that I'm suggesting it, because Australian electrical standards seem to mandate that only licenced electricans can touch mains cabling, but custom making an electrical cable is unbelievably easy to do with a screw driver and a pair of wire strippers.

Edit: I'm not even sure if an extension cable is considered mains cabling in Australia. ChatGTP seems to explicitly think that it's not.
