Nexus 7 Not Charging ;(

Got given a nexus 7 for christmas, after the first day of usage it just won't charge, tried different outlets, wouldn't recognize on the computer either. Seems like a common problem on the nexus 7, anyone else had issues with theirs?

After years of using apple phones/ipads where everything has just worked, then i use an android and fails after first day!

    hey mate,

    are you using the official nexus included charger + cable?
    the N7 is notorious for being picky with chargers - ie. you can't use any old USB charger (even if it outputs 2A). It definitely doesn't work with iPhone or iPad chargers unfortunately.

      Yer, using the provided charger. Tested the power outlet with charging other devices and tried to charge it using the computer, but wasn't recognized and said there was an "issue with the device"..Is from Bing lee Bondi and i'm wondering whether i can take to any Bing lee store? cause there is one near me.

        the n7 power plug as well as the usb cable?

        mine seems to reluctantly accept 3rd party outlets after a few tries but the only sure-fire way is to go stock

        in either case file a warranty case with google play (if you got it from there) and they'll have a replacement for you to use before you have to give up your current one

          Yup, using everything that came in the box. As i have read about the nexus not working with other cables/adapters. I got it from Bing Lee so hopefully i just get a replacement straight away.

          One thing though, if they manage to charge it, all my details are on there, like facebook, hotmail, google +, home address, contacts..i really need it factory reset somehow

      Only got one day of playing with it. From reading around though, it does seem to be a common problem amongst the nexus 7.

    Mine charges with the included charger as well as my SGS3 charger (SGS 3 cable works too but fit is loose).

    I am in Laos and have been experiencing very slow or no charging from some of my cables. I think the original cable is back in Perth. I hope it'll work better on my return.
