Not a freebie you need to donate/spend $50. Is it tax dedutible?
The first 200 customers to spend/donate $50 or more will receive a fresh 1kg Ecopet Turkey and Cranberry Christmas Dinner Dog Food Roll exclusive to Pets at Home.
My interpretation is that the first 200 people who spend at least $50 (on Pets At Home purchases) or donate at least $50, or a mixture of the two totalling at least $50, will receive the 1kg dog food roll.
Charity advertisements normally go to great lengths to stress tax deductibility, so on that basis one might assume this is not tax deductible. However, it could also just be an oversight on the part of Pets At Home, as it appears that donations to the Lort Smith Animal Hospital are tax deductible (PDF):
Can I make a donation to the Lort Smith Animal Hospital?
Yes. As a charitable organistaion that receives no government funding, the Lort Smith Animal Hospital relies on public supprt to help them continue their work. Donations can be made at the Hospital in North Melbourne, online at www.lortsmith.com or by simply giving a donation to the cashier at any Pets at Home store. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
The donation in this case is to the Lort Smith Wishing Tree Appeal, so presumably it should be tax deductible. (Obviously, any Pets At Home purchases aren't.)
I feel mean - but I am going to give this a negative
Couple of reason
1) its not a bargain
2) I cannot find any information that this donation is tax deductible (I would be happy to be proven wrong)
No question about it being warm and fuzzy - but thats not enough to make it a bargain
