I see a lot of these types of kayaks for sale on the 2nd hand market. I actually have a slightly smaller one, but haven't used it yet. From what I've read, these flat hull type kayaks, while stable, are fairly slow and less easy to manoeuvre. I think a lot of beginners buy them, use them once or twice then sell them. Having said that, if you just want to float around a quiet river or lake, they're probably fine. I wouldn't take one in the waves at the beach though.

  • Agree with above. Light weight means I use it more. I had a 32 kg one. Just hard work to get on the racks. Buy two and stack on roof. Easy.

That's a stitch up on the paddle though.
Quick search I found this for $17 (which I have actually used previously and will vouch for): https://www.amazon.com.au/Intex-69629-Kayak-Paddle-Black/dp/…

    • Nice find! I have used that before as well. Someone else told me it was too flexy, but it worked well enough for me (leisurely pace in calm waters).

  • Would that 10 foot SUP be good 2 people under 140kg?

Want something lightweight and cheap enough to flap around on
