Using Gift Cards to Pay for IKEA Delivery Order?

Regarding IKEA, can you use gift cards towards delivery or just on the products they have in-store, also I take their delivery service can get busy?

I looked the other day and was able to add delivery and select a day, but when I try it’s not available and says try again another time?

Not that I’m ready to order, but I need to move stuff around to see what I can fit in room and then when I’m ready I can purchase gift cards and order them but I will need the delivery as an option I don’t want to be left with gift cards and I will need to order the stuff by a certain date.

Really don’t get why delivery is not available when it was available previously or give you dates in advance.

Does anyone know how the delivery thing works? Be good if you was able to select a day be is 2 weeks later for example etc.

  • Yes, IKEA giftcards can be used towards the delivery charge. For my location IKEA gives two different delivery days that I can choose from, either Mondays or Fridays, but I'm sure that varies by quite a lot depending on your area. In terms of delivery not being available, are you sure the item says its "in stock for delivery"? Because all IKEA delivery orders are picked from seperate warehouses and not thr IKEA retail stores.

    • Yes items in stock and delivery was available yesterday but I’m not ready for it I just wanted to see how much etc and dud bit follow through. I obviously have to move stuff around room and Tahoe some sizes and see if what I’m after will work.
If yes then I go order gift cards and I use my discount I have and order but just found it weird it was not letting me pick this time. Maybe it’s available next week now and if you say Monday and Friday is only days left I’m sure it has Thursday or Friday which was available and that’s maybe full now. But all good I am not ready but hopefully when I am it’s all good and available then.

  • I'm sure you are doing online order right. Select items as usual then enter in address and delivery as your preferred option. On the very last page on payment, you can pay with multiple gift cards. Macquarie offers 6% off gift cards.

  • When you mention “gift cards”, do you mean IKEA gift cards, Ultimate/Celebration gift cards or some other type of gift card?

With IKEA gift cards, the IKEA website says you can redeem an unlimited number of them in one online transaction. Someone claimed to once redeem 188 in an online transaction, although some other people have not been as successful.

With Ultimate/Celebration gift cards, you can only directly use one Ultimate/Celebration gift card on the online checkout, because Ultimate/Celebration gift cards operate on the Visa network and the online checkout will not let you split payments across multiple Visa cards. The workaround in this case is to the Exchange for eGift portal for these gift cards and exchange them for IKEA gift cards.

With another type of gift card, it will depend on what it is.

  • Yes they are actually ikea gift cards so that’s good it can be used on delivery as well I knew there was another question and you just reminded me there good there’s not restriction on just a few gift cards used as be crap if I had got some smaller gift cards to get closer to the actual amount i needed and could not as limited to x amount online but all good also
