½ Price Quilton Tuffy 4ply Paper Towels 3pk $2.50 @ Woolworths

970

Tuffy's superior 4 Ply 'Tuff-Weave' makes it the most absorbent and strongest when wet. But then again you'd expect nothing less from Quilton. 60 Sheets per Roll.

Wow haven't seen this price since 2020 I believe .

      2021, $2.15.

Half price, but the regular price went from $4.30 to $5.

    • Yeah that was my first thought too. I've been getting the Strike 3 pack.

      • How is the strike compared to tuffy?

        • Not as durable, but I reckon better than the other brands.

  • Wait, when did Woolies specials start on a Tuesday?

*edit: Oh, daylight saving time adjustment I guess.

Hands down best paper towel ever, rarely on sale usually at most 20-30% off

Top Quality, Made in Australia, and now a great price.

  • Anyone compared to costcos brand that are 12 for $40 I think

    • +3

Nothing else compares to these Tuffy 4ply. You can seriously use them multiple times by wringing them dry.

      • +1

Bench/Table use, dry out, then floor/ground use.

  • Is it possible to wipe one's ass with this stuff?

    • +2

It's not possible for it to break up in water in the same way as toilet paper.

    • +1

      Wipe yes, flush no.
      Benefit over regular TP? None.

    • It will handle your abrasive waste, but don't flush it.

I try not to shop at Woolworths because it's only 10% Australian owned, but I do need kitchen paper.

    • -2

lol do you also only buy 100% Australian owned products? (of which there is very little). Is the car you drive 100% Australian made? Are the trains or buses you catch made by an Australian company? Is the house you live in made by 100% Australian materials? Naive

Good on you @Cleremy. I also avoid Woolworths for that and other reasons including their poor treatment of their employees and their suppliers.

    • Really?

  • Noticed that bog roll and Paper Towel finally breaking from the covid price frenzy

    • Consumer behaviour changes in response to price.
Lots of people are down to just one or two poos a week

Is Tuffy just the WW specific version of the Quilton Absorba as the full price seems to be pretty close?

    Quilton Absorba Paper Towel Rolls, Pack of 24 24 rolls x 60 sheets $37.60 ($33.84 S&S)

    Quilton Absorba Double Length Paper Towel, White, 8 Count 8 rolls x 120 sheets $23.80 ($21.42 S&S)

I thought they are the same too and have been only buying them when on special on Amazon. However lately (i.e. within the past year), there seems to be a 50/50 chance a roll of Absorba paper towels will entirely delaminate. So obviously Quilton have cut costs somewhere. Wondering if Tuffy have the same issues?

      • +1

I've had the exact same experience. Tuffy of course was better until they brought out the thicker Absorba, and while Absorba delaminates much of the time, Tuffy has also delaminated in my experience. They're owned by the same company.

I ended up buying one of these just to see how they compared to Viva. Haven't really given them hard enough use to compare the toughness yet, but considering every towel I've ripped off so far is pretty much delaminated into 3 plies (ie only the middle two sheets are properly bonded), I'm pretty sure I won't be trying these again.

  • this paper shits all over the other brands - wait, lemme rephrase that …
