  • are these really worth the price?

Yeah, they are great for doing the dishes. I was skeptical, bought them on special from Amazon some years ago & now use them exclusively.

      • guess I will give it a go regardless of the stupidly expensive price…

        • The do seem to last longer. Can buy bulk packs at Bunnings as well these days.

Not for stubborn/baked-on stains imo. These things can't replace a metal scourer or even a dish sponge with a hard-edged green scrubbing side.

They're okay but vastly overrated from my experience and the whole cold/hot water gimmick really doesn't change their cleaning ability by that much.

      • I was thinking the 'soft when it's hot' wouldn't be so good for encrusted cookware….

    • Its mostly a novelty in my opinion.

It feels like it could be working better but in reality if I'm having trouble cleaning something I need hot water + a tougher scourer where the scrub daddy would be soft.

If I want something delicate or non stick I could use the scrub daddy but literally anything else also works the same.

    • They're just a very good quality sponge that you would normally get at Woolworths/Coles, but without the tough green scourer part.

    • Personally don't rate them myself. Pros: they're fun and cute, which is why i bought them to try. Cons: Doesn't soak up spills like a regular sponge but also isn't the best of scrubbers (only for light use). Most people scrub stubborn stains with warm water so the fact the sponge softens then seems counter productive. Also after a couple months of use, they start to deteriorate and little plastic bits come off it - granted I should probably change my scrubber in that time but with others i've used, i usually like to boil them and stretch their life a little further. Ended up switching to two sided sponge/scourers which do a better job in both instances, plus they don't deteriorate as bad after a couple of months. You can find reputable brands of these regularly on sale for around $4/6 (66c each) so a third of the price of a scrub daddy. Definitely paying for the novelty when buying ScrubDaddy. But if it brings a smile to your face every time you do the dishes, go for it.
