Stone Benchtop Discolouration

Hi All,

We got Cesarstone bench top installed 6 months ago and a section has started looking yellow. I’ve used the cleaning products, vinegar, etc and nothing seems to be cleaning it. Wondering if anyone had any tricks they used

We occasionally use a cutting board, there is no direct sun light, can’t figure how to get it cleaned.

  • They sell their own maintenance kit if you found other commercial ones to not do the trick: https://www.caesarstone.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/20…

You can get it for free when you register for the 10-year warranty.

    • Thank you, already did that and tried it and no luck.

  • +1

Metho (methylated spirits) is what the installers used to clean ours after install. Always comes up great after a wipe over.

Stone will take on spice colours, so make sure you're on to curries or spices that end up on the bench as soon as it happens.

A clean with metho and see what happens in a day or two. Pour some onto the area and wipe over the bench.

    • Thanks Jimmy, I’ll give it a go

  • Just put laminex on top.

    • lol I would love to but the wife wanted stone

  • Possible it's picking up a food stain from your cutting board? Tumeric stains on my grey Caesarstone fade away over time without any special cleaning.

    • Thank you, I heard that to, I’ll give it some time.

  • 1 part bicarb soda/baking soda 1 part water mix to thick paste, spread over stain leave for 24 hrs then wipe off and hope it works

    • Leaving it for 24 hours is safe?

      • It should be, maybe test in an inconspicuous spot first or try for a shorter time. Also I forgot you should cover with plastic ie:clingwrap so it doesn't dry out
