Fingers crossed - but my cynical mind thinks they'll just transfer stock to other parts of the Wesfarmers group, e.g. Bunnings (who already stock OMO) etc.
I doubt it will be the case but could be wrong, my experience in retail and warehousing, pick pack and shipping between warehouses are always a loss leader, a fire sale is much cheaper and the stores(brands) do not want to be lumped with old inventory. Also Wesfarmers do save a lot on tax write offs with showing the depreciation and markdowns.
Next 15-30 days is the key!

We collect points with Coles. When we wanted to buy things to soak up the dollars we used to buy laundry detergent. We are still finishing off the powder we bought preCovid. Had toilet paper and cleaning stuff for the same reason. It was a tad “shortages, what shortages?”

This isn't great. Can often get this for $36-$40 on Amazon when promos are about (free prime delivery). Ok promo if you have one pass and need this now though
Just my 2 bobs, the current discounts don’t feel like a closing down sale. If people hold out another 15 days to some of these no discount deals there will be traction to reduce further.
