What's a Good Small Desktop PC for Light Gaming, around $600?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for recommendations for a compact PC, possibly a mini PC, that can handle gaming.

I mostly play games like Anno 1800, as well as less demanding titles such as Balatro and Outer Wilds. Space is a big consideration for me, so the form factor needs to be small enough to fit comfortably on my desk. My budget is around $600.

Would mini PCs like the BOSGAME P3 or MINISFORUM UM690 Slim be good options, or are there better alternatives within my budget?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    1. Asus ROG NUC 7: This mini PC is about the size of a cable box and comes with a mobile-class RTX 4070 GPU, making it perfect for light gaming. It's compact, easy to upgrade, and blends well into any living room setup.

Someone forgot to include OP's budget in their AI prompt.

I'm hoping to get this one
    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0DKFKGR4Z/

it can be had as low as $500ish.
to do this, you have to
    a) wait until sunday midnight (ie: monday morning) to check if they drop the regular price to $700, and if they do
    b) wait until 2hours later at 2am, when they randomly release a $170 off coupon - which will be gone in the morning.

ive been tracking this since i missed out on $500 price three weeks ago.

last night (rather this morning) at 0207 there was a $180 coupon for example.

    • Thanks for that. I'll give it a go. Seems to get good reviews.

check amazon for coupons. when coupons on other computers expire thats generally when the prices cycle.
there's some expiring 3rd of feb and some on the 9th of feb.
when prices change, coupons do not immediatelly come out.

i recommend adding to your amazon wish list, cos there you can also add a note upto 255chars, this is where im tracking what the prices+coupons were.

        • Does the Camelizer take account of vouchers?

      • Did it get a coupon on Monday morning 2am?

tried, but didn't see any for that specific pc

          • @tomate85: i messaged gmktec on amzn to see if they'll discount to $500ish again, and they said no :(

    • Heads up: It seems the coupons are no longer being shown on the item pages themselves, but only in your basket saved items. You have to click on it there to get the discount applied.

      UM870 for $529 seems tempting.

  • I am also interested in this. Want a new computer but don’t think I need a full on gaming pc.

I looked at the minis forum um760 - have seen as low as $480
    https://www.amazon.com.au/MINISFORUM-UM760-Slim-Processor-Co…

Or else the UM870 - as low as $680

Steam Deck LCD at $650. You'll just need to get a usb-c hub to plug into monitor/ mouse and keyboard.

    • There's also a gaming controller attached to the body of this small computer. As well an inbuilt a screen, speaker and battery

    • Good one, didn't think of going that way.

  • Hey OP, wondering if you settled on any of these or something else?

    • Went with the BOSGAME P3. Haven't received it though, so can't really give feedback yet.

      • Cool would like to hear your thoughts if you get the chance.
