It's in a pretty good location. Heaps of traffic flows through there every day from the CBD and Westside. Not much competition around the immediate area.

Rest in peace to Lotus Room, the old Chinese restaurant that used to be on that site. You were mid, but you will be missed.

lol, I’ve mostly lived north-west and must have gone there about once.

      • +1

Haha yep. I've probably gone to the clothing alterations place there more than I have the restaurant.

      • Yea same

They knocked down North Brisbane's most iconic Chinese restaurant to build this GYG. The worse part is that there is another GYG 10 minutes away

I can somewhat understand why they put a GYG here - the flow of traffic through Wardell St of people going up north from the West/CBD side is insane - and heaps of these commuters would have never gone through Stafford as part of their daily commute. The next GYG on that specific path would be at Albany Creek.

Yeah it's unfortunate that Lotus Room had to be knocked down. Quality of it had definitely dwindled over the past few years though and I found that less and less people were going there as time went on. The owners probably sold the land for a good deal. Good for them.

      • Yeah I did notice a drop in the quality towards the end, guess the owners started losing their enthusiasm. I would have preferred it if they sold the business to someone that would have revitalized the business into the great Chinese restaurant it once was. But I guess GYG has deep pockets and made them a generous offer.

I think I'm just getting sick of GYGs popping up everywhere at the expense of 'Mum and Dad' takeaways and restaurants.

    • Arana Hills is a bit painful in peak hours if that’s the one you mean.

Nah I know which one you're talking about - there's another one in Albany Creek on Old Northern Rd, heading up to the Eatons Hill/Brendale area. It's in a small-ish mixed residential/commercial area near the Jinker track.

True. I like gyg as I can get full GF takeaway mini meal for the price of Grill’d GF burger…

    The place will be packed

  • anyone know if it is one per person or can order as many as you want in one transaction?

    • +1

I'e ordered 5 at once, all in one transaction.

      • nice was that the max?

        • Not sure sorry. I honestly don't think they care.

          • @Slinky0111: Missed the days when it was free on opening day and you just need to line up to get your free one and if you line up again you can get another

  • Has anyone frozen their burritos? How long do you think it would last?

Are these the mini burritos or regular? Last time I think the breakfast ones were the smaller size.

  • We live very close by and really wish they had opened a Hungry Jack’s or Taco Bell instead of GYG.
