Hi, I would like to have recommendations for a budget Smart TV (preferably under $500) with dual tuners if any such exists. Many thanks in advance.
Looking for a Budget Smart TV with Dual Tuner

I just use a HDHomeRun FLEX QUATRO.
Four tuners and can watch on any TV, PC, phone, tablet, even away from home…
can watch on any TV
Can i watch it on a non-smart TV?
Only if you connect a Google TV, fire stick etc as you watch via the HD Home Run app…
It's basically like using a streaming service, but it uses your TV aerial instead. It has it's own tv guide.
You can also connect the TV tuner to a PLEX server and watch via the Plex app.If you want to also record, you have to pay extra for a subscription service…

Or you have to still be using Windows Media Center after all these years.
I do wish Microsoft had continued with it.

I watch on an old computer monitor using a Google TV device.

So to use Live TV with Plex you have to pay for a Plex Pass, and then you have to pay more to record as well?

No, you can watch for free using the HD Home Run app.

If you want to record though, it is $35 per year.

@jv: So how do I add the app to a non-smart tv?
@Bruceflix: Using my Google TV.
This is an overseas website that filters by required features (already set dual tuner = yes). It may help, but you should check that Aussie sold models have the features you want before buying.

Thanks, everyone. Geekcohen, I believe that dual tuners are needed to watch a channel and record on another simultaneously. I might be wrong.
What are the chances of two shows, on at the same time, on FTA TV, worth watching, and not on the catch up apps.
Hi, thanks for responding. As far as I can tell, I'm unable to connect a streaming device to the non Smart TV as the recorder is connected to it and has no spare slots.
But pretty much EVERYTHING is on playback nowadays, so why not just stream it? Thats what I do, I have a Foxtel box and never record anything. Most TV Stations now are stupid not to make something available online via their streaming platform(s).
To elaborate, I have a dual tuner Samsung non smart TV connected to a Panasonic recorder which I use to record live TV. I would like to buy a Smart TV to watch streamed shows but with the option to record, which I think needs a dual tuner. Really confused by the huge array of products on offer of which I understand very little. Do pardon my tech ignorance.
Does the recorder have an antenna connection?
TV recorders I'm familiar with have their own tuner(s) built and are able to record even if no TV is connected.
The recorder does have an antenna connection, I will try this. Thank you.
Get a fetch mighty
Get a cheap set top box with recording capability to a USB stick.
if you want a TV to do everything then I would suggest going to HN or JB and ask them what they have that can do what you want and then go home and check out the TV they say may do what you want and double check it does.
Many thanks, everyone for all ideas :)
I didn't know any TVs came with dual tuners. Maybe they do, I've never looked into it.
