Dewalt DW713-XE (Toolmart = $299, Bunnings $270 with 10% Price Match)

80

Been looking for a mitre drop saw, but didn't want to fork out the $ for DeWalt. Stumbled across ToolMart reducing the price on their 10" model to $299 (Bunnings currently on shelf for $546!). With pricematch (beat it by 10%) this should come down to $270. I'm shooting across now to pick it up.

The link to the toolmart item is here… http://www.toolmart.com.au/dw713-xe.html
I'd include the Bunnings link but my broswer has decided it no longer likes loading pages.

If you don't wont to fork out money why not just buy a GMC/Supercheap brand?

    • +7

probably caus they are cheap crap and if you use it more than twice it will break*

*actual breakage time may be slightly longer than quoted, but probably not by much

I bought my drop saw from Clints Crazy bargains in Albury for $27 in 2006.

used it to build a deck, large cubby house, front fence, and other jobs.

        hasn't skipped a beat.

        $27

        • Half life of my crappy drill was about a year and complete decay took another 4 years. Every single time when I was using it it was a pain. Pain from knowing if I would have buy normal one then, the work I do now would be so much enjoyable. It was a relive when it's finally died and, thanks to ozbargain, my occasional drilling and screwdriving needs now way more pleasant.

Because he wanted something better? The bargain was for the dewalt saw, not some cheapo.

          Then why reccomend shittier tools?

        • DeWalt are definitely not crap.

They are one of the original tool making companies and still have an excellent reputation.

Thanks for the link man. I'm on my iphone. Went to + you but clicked the - by accident sorry. How do I get rid of the neg?

      • +2

There ya go - I "+" it for you to neutralise it. :)

      • +2

And another + to get it where you want. :)

  • Yeah the deal isn't for everyone. DeWalt does have a reputation for quality though.
I bought an Ozito cicular saw that not only didn't miss a beat, it didn't produce one straight cut! There's certainly cheaper saws out there, but I don't think you could go too wrong with this one for the price.

    • Yup - I got a Bunnings Sliding Compound Mitre saw a few years ago and it will not cut 45 degress accuratly…. By Bunnings Buy Twice! Keep in mind however Dewalt seems to prodice a couple of lines in each category - here is the Oz link to these models —> http://www.dewalt.com.au/powertools/productoverview/hierarch…

Price match of the $299 price will only work for those located near stores in WA, otherwise have to add $20 postage to make it $319, so 10% price match will make it $287.10. Still a great price though.

    • Do they match online prices?

  • Bunnings Price Guarantee:

If you happen to find a cheaper price on a stocked item we'll beat it by 10%*

*Excludes trade quotes, stock liquidations and commercial quantities. Shelf prices may be lower than advertised to ensure lowest prices every day.

Bunnings' price guarantee applies to any cheaper price found on an on-line store or in a physical store in Australia. It applies where the other store's final price, inclusive of delivery, taxes, fees and charges, is lower than our price

  • Why is Bunnings Price Match mentioned in the title? Price matching is not a deal.

    • The deal is for the other company, but for those that have a bunnings nearby, drags them into the deal too.

      • Putting Bunnings price match in the title was wrong.

    • $299 is cheap (Bunnings price is $546) and then 10% off is even better. Makes perfect sense.

Why is Officeworks mentioned for their 5% off in other deals? Because the whole point of this site is getting a great deal, so why settle for a great price when you can get 5 or 10% off a great price?

      • Without going into the downsides of the price matches, the point is that the price-match should at least have never been part of the title.

Talking about Bunnings.. bought an Ozito Drop Saw for about $56, so even if it breaks down after the 3yr warranty I will have enough $ left over to buy 4 more Ozito's after that. The Ozito is doing a good job so far too!

  • Dewalt has a pretty good name for drop saws, this is why we got one at work. We bought the most expensive one the tool store had which im pretty sure is this model or similar and we have had some problems with it. Started sparking then eventually caught on fire. Also right out of the box it wasnt as good as our previous drop saw. Spits alot of shavings at you when cutting aluminum. I honestly wouldnt recommend one after my experience. We have replaced ours after about 18 months because it just continually was breaking down and having problems. Whatever the small cheap thing they replaced it with actually seems better.
