      there's this one: https://www.jrpass.com/farecalculator/

      haven't used it myself.

Each person needs their own card. You can get the Welcome Suica cards from the airport on arrival. iOS users can use digital cards.

Welcome Suica cards from the airport on arrival. iOS users can use digital cards.

I did not know that. So how do you go about getting the digital IC cards? I assume you can load multiple of these on one phone for each family member

        • +2

Easy, just head to your Apple wallet > Add > Choose Suica > Choose amount > Pay with card stored in Apple Wallet.

I’m not sure about multiple on one device - you can certainly have 1 on the phone and another on the watch though.

@Apostle0748: I’m guessing children would get the physical card as prices for children would be different

            • @freeb1e4me: it's one per iOS device unfortunately.

@freeb1e4me: Your name should be spoonfeedme

@freeb1e4me: I think so. You need to show some ID to get the child card.

Child may not have a phone anyway.

When going through the gate, the child ticket makes a bird noise.

    These stopovers are deadly.

Good luck to the fellow cheapskates braving the midnight release to save $65.

    • I got $379 Syd return to Seoul. I thought it would come down to $359 but that price remains a permanent discount for club members, I guess.

Still a great deal and thanks OP.

    • If you add extras (which I suggest you do on an international flight), then you save more if you pay the $65.
But this IS OzBargain after all, so you don't HAVE to add any frills

    • Got $404 return to KIX, would've been $384 with Club Jetstar, but if I'm flying Jetstar it's a matter of principle not to pay a cent more than the base fare be it on luggage, food, seats, or Club Scamstar.

  • Thanks! I booked it for my family.

I just booked in Oct with my family of 6(1 year old included) to Osaka for $1950 with baggage and seat fees. Website kind of lags out so every time I had to redo my trip on the website the seats are getting booked out fast on the $0 return days.

Thanks OP booked family of 5 for October, everyone is super excited

  • death by captcha, this website

  • Booked, but damn Jetstar is annoying. Travelling 2 adults and infant under 2, but wanted to book a 3rd seat for space and child.

Can't book an extra infant seat online, have to call. Called and got to customer service after following the sections on website. On hold for 45mins, then talked to them and said they're customer service, if you don't have a current flight, need to talk to sales.

Transferred and waited on hold again for 45mins.

Then found out I had to pay a call centre fee for each adult, pay the call centre flight price, not the online price.

Still worked out ok price wise because of the return for free, but surely an easier way to do this online. Probably paid around an extra $220 because their system is average. And no way was I going to book the 2 adults online yourself, then call and hop ethere was still a seat available to add the 3rd seat.

  • I really don't get how this works…

I tried to search dates in the Oct to Nov range for both osaka and Tokyo from Melb but I can't seem to find any option for the free return flights?

    • +1

I see $0 to return Fri 21st Nov from Tokyo.

You're pretty slow to the sale, being 24 hours since the deal was posted, so most would be sold by now.

      • Is that from Melbourne? Do you need to be a jetstar club member to view the return dates? (nevermind I figured it out it was only for 1 person return)

  • I'm a club jetstar member and can't see these deals for those between dates.

EDIT: ok to get this to work. Click on date range as a single passenger then select dep date and it'll load the $0 fares in the calender and go from there.

$0 fare dates for me are no good I'll go NZ instead.

  • Paid around 635 pp for return to Tokyo (Narita) via Cairns with 1 x 20kg checked luggage during June. Is that considered a deal?

    • Via CNS, from where??

I paid $400 something from BNE to Tokyo via CNS RT in June 2023 (no luggage — the only way to travel ;D).

And $286 from BNE to Osaka direct RT last June (again, carry-ons only).

      • From Syd

Need the luggage so I can bring alcohol back from Japan haha

        • I did buy 1 piece of luggage for the return too. No point paying for luggage on the way there, though.

  • I can't see option for free return for any of the available selling out soon options. Does this mean, the site hasn't caught up with the amount of tickets bought for the free return flights im assuming?

    • i think so

    • You have to keep searching…..

When you get to the to and from flight price list, the to price is there but you need to search for a return flight which state $0

For example: There is a return flight on Sunday 17 August 2025 for $0

I am not booking but just seeing what's there
