dik smith is around $300 cheaper

edit: just checked, the non-3d one was what i was refering to. this one is around $2300 on dick smith.

  • +2

    Pretty sure that's the non-3d one that's $1077

    HX 750: http://dicksmith.com.au/product/GE3010/sony-55-quot-139cm-fu…

  • $1391 is a great price. DS is almost $1000 more. Jb & HN want around $1600 in store.

  • I have been eying the KDL55HX850 all morning … must resist.

Be aware they offer a discount of 5% on extra things you add… so a $99 item would get discounted and thus might invalidate the deal… not done a checkout or anything to check that though.

  • Can JB Hi Fi price match this?

    • +2

Each store is different, try yourself and let us know.

      • The store at Kedron didn't price match any online store with no shop fronts.

The guy at Chermside offered a price match of exact same price.

Found it on eBay from US for AU$1,281.64 + AU$54.78 shipping to AUSTRALIA

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/55-Sony-3D-1080p-XR480-Wi-FI-LED-…

Includes 2 pair of 3d glasses instead of 1!

    • +3

You also miss out on the $300 cash card and potential warranty.

    • +2

Also, you will need a set-top box or similar to view free-to-air TV.

US uses ATSC broadcast technology and Australia uses DVB-T.

    I just purchased it!

I went to HN and they agreed to price match it, same deal $1391 with the $300 cashback after spending $99 (also offered to sell another pair of 3d glasses for $110 from $149, but you can get them on eBay for $40 delivered anyway)

So I went to JB Hi-Fi and they also agreed to price match! and I decided to go with JB Hi-Fi and also got an extended additional 3 years warranty (4 total) for an extra $129 (brought it down from $169).

Over all awesome deal! $1391 + $169 for additional 3 years warranty (plus $300 eftpos cashback when I apply online)

    • +1

Are you sure the extended warranty counts towards the extra $99??

      • Nah, I purchased a separate "SONY Electronic product"

I got a pair of very nice wireless sony headphones with rechargeable dock valued at $299 but with 30% got them for $209

Can either keep them or sell em on eBay for same price

    • Do you have the reciept? Please PM me! I'll go buy mine tomorrow :)
Does the 3 years warranty count towards the $300 eftpos cashback?

  • great deal….i bought this tv for 1700 a month before..i should've waited for boxing day :(

  • +2

Can someone post receipt want to pricematch in store

  • Note: the Sony store has the cash cards on site so you dont have to send away for them. Well the store i went to did anyway. Robina, Gold Coast. They also wont be beaten on price if you can prove it!

    • So they can price match BBB/Appliances Online? I'll call tomorrow and check and get back to you on that. (If you don't see this before then)

      • +1

They actually beat it $1360 for the HX750 and $1750 for the HX850. Ive sent a friend there and they got the HX750 for the same price i did.

        • great deal, could you please PM the receipt. thanks

  • Be wary of the conditions to the cash back requires you must purchase a SONY electronic product on the same day and store I beleive!

    • Yeah i got the PS3 12 gb one for $99. I think only the sony store offers that. They also threw in Narnia 3d in for free.

      • You got a ps3 for $99??

        • +1

Yeah. I had a choice of PS3, camera, wireless headphones or another set of 3d glasses for $99 to qualify for the $300 cash card. I think the sony store only offer the PS3.

  • +1

I brought mine down to 1370 with +2 years warranty.

It should have come with 1 glasses so I'm going back tomorrow and trying again.

    • Where from?

It does come with 1x 3d glasses in the box

Also may want to do some research into the file formats and devices the SONY Bravia TV's can support.

From what I have found they do not support NTFS formatted drives, so you will need to format using FAT32 or exFAT if you want to use files larger than 4GB.

As far as video supported file formats there may be some problems, more so around .mkv and other .avi types of files - see http://www.sony.com.au/support/compatibility/501299/product/…

      • that is crap! Doesnt support mkv….not even divx hd….looks like the LG is the go

      • JB Hi fi but I have to buy the 2 glasses + 2 years extended warranty. He brought the glasses down to $140 each. Still a bloody rip which you can find on ebay for $40. Might just get one instead or a new headphones.

Will go back tomorrow and see whether the box gets a 3D glass because the sales guy said it didn't.

  • i got it today from harvey norman marion $1390 priced match to this saved 1 dollar lol and my tv came with one set of glasses

  • Hi,

    Please PM me receipt. Thanks!!

Anyone tried any JB, HN or DSE stores in Sydney with the above deal?

    • -1

Your first comment on ozbargain … and you just demand a receipt?
Not even a positive vote for the deal?

      rude…

      • +1

A bit rough on madlax, don't you think? After all, he/she used "Please" and "Thanks", and there always has to be a first post!!

  • +1

i tried jb but they wont price match online stores harvey norman priced match and the guy had even heard of big brown box a few times so it must be a common site to use lol. I got a sony camera for 127 for my gf so that shut her up win win just waiting on my 300 card now.

Sony 3D WiFi BluRay Player Model Number: BDPS590 for A$146
I have deposite the money going to pick up on wed
I think this is best deal for sony brand

  • As an OzBargainer, would you fork out the extra for the HX850? Is there that much of a difference in picture quality between these two?

    • 3D yes a little more depth and clarity. Dvds, usb, tv looks the same to me as i have both tvs.

  • Just bought this from today from Harvey Norman QV Melbourne.

Price matched to this same offer, $1391 + $250 for 5 year replacement warranty.
Also went into JB HiFi and got the price match, but went back to HN to get some other stuff.
