    8 GB LPDDR5-4800MHz (Soldered) - YUCK!!
    TN Panel - YUCK!!

    even at that price

    • it should have a single memory socket

and although TN sucks i doubt kids would know

but even then i feel like lugging a 15" laptop to school kinda sucks

  • +1

that is not much for $600 :/, its also got a TN panel. 512 for storage seems decent. Honestly might be worth spending a little more for something better. Maybe ok for a middle schooler.

Will all be listed on eBay in about 14 days. You won't miss it, snatch it for an extra $200.

No. This wasn't a horrendous deal or anything, but certainly not good enough to be worth scalping.

  • Do I need a soldering iron to upgrade memory?

    • +1

No, you need a different laptop with memory slots to upgrade memory. Technically possible to upgrade soldered memory if the laptop supports more memory, you can figure out which resistors you need to change and what to in order to tell the laptop how much memory it has, you can source individual memory chips (you can't just buy them from a computer store/amazon etc like DIMMs) and you have the ability and know how to do BGA soldering (which involves specialist equipment, definitely not just a soldering iron…the soldered connectors are not exposed).

Some laptops that have soldered memory also have a DIMM slot to upgrade memory, this one doesn't.
