Tefal Easy Fry Mega 7.5L Air Fryer $149 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ In-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

250

I bought this air fryer at the end of last year. Today I made pizza with it.

For its price you can't find a larger air fryer from a reputable brand. Plus, you are supporting an Aussie company which has physical stores, which I think is a plus.

It comes with 1 year warranty, but think that is BS. A reasonable lifetime for an air fryer is definitely at least 7 years I think, so if it breaks within this time, use your ACL rights and get it fixed or replaced by them.

7 years?! I don't think you would have success arguing that a $149 appliance should last that long.

The RRP is $399 according to their website. And it's a big international brand, not some random nobody from China or Anko branded etc.

Anyway, should definitely last more than one year.

it's made in some random factory in china. My superior Anko oven type airfryer has lasted 3.5yrs.

it's superior because it not only hold more, has racks, but it has a chip Ferris wheel basket which craps all over these draw type airfryers 😋

it's similar to this, but i paid under $100

Yes we know. No one denies that. But it is not a Chinese company.

Enjoy your superior electronics from kmart

          • @smartProverble: my cheaper, superior airfryer! I bet my tumbled fries, chips, wedges, gems taste so much better!!! Evenly cooked in their little potato ferris wheel, no manual turning/shaking required. Just set, forget until the beeeeeeeeeeeeeep Mmm you know you want some. Maybe I'll toss in some tempura chicken nuggets too. why not? I have room. plenty of room in my magical rotating basket.

go on, you know you want one!

on a serious note, if you make rissoles/burger patties, try them in the airfryer, they're soooo good! rub a little smokey bbq sauce on the outside so they caramelise & get a crust, but stay soft on the inside.

Cannot fault Tefal's service as they replaced mine (different model) after the heating element failed causing heavy black smoke just after one year. Got an upgraded model which again had the same issue after about a year with light use. Would not buy their airfryer brand again.

    • Did you buy from Tefal or JB hi-fi?

      • From David Jones, but had to contact Tefal directly to get it replaced under warranty.

        • +1

David Jones don't have the right to make you do that. Although the only recourse they can reasonably offer is a refund

        • but had to contact Tefal directly to get it replaced under warranty.

FYI the shop (David Jones) is supposed to take full responsibility for the warranty under the ACL. They shouldn't have asked you to take it up to the manufacturer.

@smartProverble: Thank you, I was not aware. I had called them and redirected to the store I bought it from, but the person that took the phone that time just advised me to contact Tefal directly. It has been a few years now and I did not think much of it as Tefal offered me without any hassle a larger and higher valued replacement (from FX202D to EY701D). Tried my luck with them again, but they were unable to do anything this time.

@sn0w: Yep no worries. We should exercise these rights as much as we can and not let these companies off the hook and become lazy at the expense of us customers!

Sometimes the retailer doesn't even know what we can and can't claim.

              • @smartProverble: Problem is when the retailer takes too long to offer a replacement. We may demand a refund then, but that too will require an approval from the manufacturer. They can contact the manufacturer to arrange for a refund and that too takes time.

    • … was going to ask if these were any good

  • I've just got the dual 11 ltr air fryer & its garbage 30 mins to cook precooked fries returning it asap.

  • I bought one last week. Happy with it so far. Cooks potato gems in about 10 minutes. It's a bit of a fingerprint magnet, and the button layout is a little unintuitive, but those are minor complaints.

Did you make the pizza from scratch? How did it turn out?

    • +1

I made the dough, added the toppings, and it was amazing.

The dough was the hardest part, the messiest…

Made 4 pizzas (one at a time) and each one took about 20 mins, including prep time.

I will definitely make more in the future rather than buy from dominoes etc.

  • Aussie Company?
Dom would be furious if you said Group SEB was owned by Australians and not the French…

      JB Hi-Fi, not Tefal.

  • -1

JB Hi-Fi doesn't need your support, they need more competition

    • We are at a time where physical stores are going out of business due to American / Chinese companies like Amazon or AliExpress.

So, they have enough competition from these foreign companies IMO.

  • Thanks OP upgraded our old one great price!

  • Whats the gold tier air fryer these day

    • +1

We replaced our Kmart air fryer with the Ninja XXXL yesterday. Of course we needed to break it in, so we made a massive serve of roast vegetables to go with our steaks (done on the bbq - don’t do steak in an air fryer lol). The difference between our old Kmart and the XXXL from Ninja is massive. Quieter, easy to use, easy to clean. Is Ninja gold tier? I don’t know - it might be. Is it better than Kmart’s? Absolutely.
