Who spends 200 bucks in cutlery???

People who want to buy a set that lasts for 10+ years without missing a beat and looks excellent on the table

Just called Costco - none of the Sydney stores have this in stock

These are really good, I'd buy more if I could find at this price.

The shape of the spoon handles looks a bit impractical. The neck seems too narrow, would likely bend quite easily. Not everyone uses spoons just for soft stuff.

    • Just curious, what exactly are you eating, that isn't soft and does bend spoons… yet doesn't damage your gums, teeth etc?

    • +3

Looks can be deceiving. I have 2 sets of these in daily use and they are incredibly strong - they've never felt even remotely close to bending and we've put them through their paces. Top-tier purchase from an excellent brand.

      • Do you put them through the dishwasher? I want some good quality cutlery that will last me yonks but I'm not sure I want to go back to hand washing them…

These are our everydays at home and go thru the dishwasher (bosch) every time.
No issues. Incredibly strong. Would not want thrown at ones self or a rap over the knuckles, they are very firm.
These won't bend, more like you'll break before it bends.
Such a lovely weight in the handle, sometimes get compliments on this cultery - not often heard tbh.
We need some more and I wasn't wanting to cough up RRP (as the boss ought them before we married - she reckons she's had them for nearly two decades - bloody excellent condition).
I'm going to be fossicking to find these in stock over the next week.

Very doubtful you would bend these if you're using them for food. They've been producing this style for decades. Can't comment on non-food uses, they may not be suitable for digging a tunnel out of gaol.

      • Ok, thanks. I was thinking of food uses. Using the soup spoon for cutting meat (eating Asian style with fork and spoon, no knife).

Or scooping fairly cold ice cream from a tub. I know there are special scoops, but a spoon should be up to that job too in a pinch.

  • I just called North Lakes (Qld). None in any Qld stores. The lady thinks that it's a new item in stock and that at this stage, it's only available online. However, as we all know, the online store has no mention of it. Interesting.

    • My theory is that the price ending in 7 indicates it has been discounted twice already, this may be completely incorrect however. Seems unlikely it's a new item.

      • It is usually stock they are exiting out of.

Has anyone seen this set in any Victorian stores by chance?

Put the STATE in the heading - not everyone knows where this place is. And spell it properly at least.
