Went into Sydney Tools to price match a blower from a competitor. I would have just purchased from the competitor if they had stock in my city but found ST had stock nearby.
They refused to match the price because apparently it was already on sale (it wasn’t on sale, they only have the extra points promotion on atm).
Anyone else have issues with ST price match?
Yeah but they sacrifice their points, instead of $$$
Either way their policy doesn’t state they don’t price match if an item is on sale.
I’ll just purchase from the other retailer and wait a few days for shipping.
Just seeing if others had similar experiences or a once off thing.
Their policy clearly covers this scenario. They get to choose whether to give you the “bonus” items/points or do the price match.
Perhaps OP was hoping to get the lower price and the bonus items.
Who are trying to get them to prove match? Is it safe to assume they are not giving a free battery?
I've never had a problem price matching at any of the tool stores, however I also don't expect one giving a bonus battery to price match one who isn't.
The pack comes with the bonus battery. From both stores. Everything is identical

Edit: The bundle (with battery) model number from the ego website is LB6504E and the stand alone for the blower is LB6500E
It seems that Sydney Tools is adding the "-B" at the end of the model number so its their own model number…..

If they only sell it in the bundle with the bonus stuff, and the price match you want doesn't, then maybe they got a point. They are different offers.
OP must not keep an eye on the posts or they are too infrequent as there are a few posts about how Sydney Tools work w.r.t. price match, refunds, orders etc.
As such this post is nothing new.
I've asked Sydney tools to price match close to 20 times now and they never have.
I do it now just for Shts&Giggles, just to read their lame excuse.
It is false advertising but they don't care.
