I tried both Amazon chat and phone call and they noted that they don’t price match/credit difference for this specific scenario. It was worth trying but no luck from my end.
If anyone does manage to get lucky with a consultant, strongly suggest to do the entire process asap (as supposedly they can’t/aren’t allowed to)

Hey everyone, get a different suitcase.
When I travel with mine I always see at least one other person with the same model, and none of us do a decent job of customising them to prevent a mix-up.
Please do not contribute to the problem I face with this quite good suitcase, which I would otherwise recommend.

Great suitcase, and a splash of colour goes a long way for a personal touch.
I phrased my previous message badly, it was meant in jest.
These samsonites are quite good and worth buying. They're also good enough to be very popular, and lately almost every flight I've had, there's been another 1 or 2 people with the same suitcase, same dark colours.
So without some large stickers, they may be a bit prone to a slapstick mix-up, and getting lost in the crowd.
Not an issue with a bright yellow suitcase, that's for sure 😁

A tale that may benefit others in the future. I reached out to amazon CS a second time and reached an operator who agreed to provide a price difference once the product had been purchased and delivered ($111) difference. He confirmed all the details in writing (via email), I paid in full then reached out to CS-Amazon who refunded me the difference in the form of a gift card after the product was delivered..
