I bought this long time ago in Thailand.

Where can I get this in Melbourne or what is the name so I can properly search online?

Thanks

    • Yeah i saw some variants but not sure if its a different brand or did they just change the packaging…

  • I can't read it
    Tried using google lens?

  • Did a Google search and found this on eBay
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/225564905920?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…

    • That looks a cream for a different purpose…

I'd definitely wouldn't put this balm on my face!

Did i accidentally smuggled cobra extract across the border? 😂

      • +3

Hope not, that might come back to bite you in the arse.

  • Ah well, time to book a holiday to Thailand!

    • and may even be able to pay someone cheaply to give me the massage instead!

  • There’s a thai grocery store across the road from Nunawading train station, it’s called Thai Sun Market that might sell it

    • I should try that… I think i've driven past it before…

I've seen this in the Thai 'general store' on Pitt St in Thai Town in Sydney. I'm not as familiar with Melbourne, but I would try the supermarket next to Jinda Thai in Abbotsford, Talad Thai.

    • I remember that one, long time ago i used to work for a supplier of that store…

There are more than 1 thai grocery stores in that area.

  • All Asians use Tiger balm, same stuff without the galangal root at a guess. Will be a lot cheaper and easier to find.

    • Nah i grew up using Tiger Balm but this one is different and gets the job done quicker!

It doesn't have the menthol feeling but relaxes the muscle quicker!

      • Probably placebo effect but I want some anyway. Can you let us know if/when you find some?

        • i don't think this has any cobra extract whatsoever…

it has similar smell to Counterpain so I assume would have contained Methyl Salicylate but i find that this also works much quicker without the strong smell of Counterpain. Counterpain is also only an analgesic, it doesn't relaxes the muscle/reduce inflammation, but this does it well.

Wife is allergic to Diclofenac so we can't have Voltaren in the house anymore.

the only downside is that its a black-coloured cream and if I use it, i will end up leaving a black stain on the bedsheet that doesn't go away easily until i wash the sheet.

  • They sold you snake oil.

    • +2

This snake oil works faster than Voltaren gel or Deepheat!

      • Any good for tendonitus?

        • not sure but i have sciatica which affects the right side of my right knee and it works well for the tendons in that area…

  • I'm seeing many similar ones, cobra instead of kobra etc, not sure which is actually the original. Might need a Thai friend to confirm.

Here is the identical one in Russia https://drthai.ru/product/cobra-cream-balm/

    • im so confused, the packaging does have a lot of russian writing i suppose? is it russian or thai? 😅

      • Perhaps it’s a Russian formulation of what was originally a Thai made balm. Have you tried the Thai product?

        • Which Thai product?

I only used whatever it is I have posted on imgur.

I don't even know if it's Thai or not anymore 😅

          • @meong: The Thai made product linked by boomramada above shows a partial list of ingredients in one of the images of the jar label. Does your product list a similar list of balm ingredients anywhere on the packaging?
