I lost the mobile just after using for a month.

Did you try calling it a few times?

What did Optus say when you contacted them?

    Seeking advices

    What are advices ?

    • It's the plural of advice.

      • No it's not…

        It's an Uncountable noun.

        • Wrong link, you need… learnenglish.strayacouncil.org

    • The opposite of devices

    • Review Your Contract Terms
Check your plan's terms and conditions for early termination or device repayment details.
    • File an Insurance Claim
If you had insurance (through Optus, your credit card, or a third party), file a claim to replace the device.
    • Transfer Your Plan
Look into transferring your plan to someone else. Optus allows plan transfers via their "Change of Ownership" process.
    • Negotiate with Optus
Call Optus and explain your situation. They might:
      • Reduce cancellation fees.
      • Allow a downgrade to a cheaper plan.
      • Temporarily suspend your plan.
    • Explore Financial Hardship Options
If you're experiencing financial difficulties, check if Optus has a financial hardship program.
    • Recover or Replace the Device
If there's any chance of finding or recovering your phone, this could make continuing the plan more manageable.

    Hopefully these advices help you.

Let me get your timeline straight, you LOST it last SEPTEMBER. That's 4 MONTHS ago. WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING?.

    • WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING?.

Waiting for the Facebook marketplace buyer to collect it.

  • Can’t you just cancel the plan and pay any remaining balance on the phone hardware? I was under the impression that Optus plans are essentially month to month.

  • Yet another "road test my scam" post. OP likely still has the handset, just wants to avoid the balance of the re-payments to score a bargain phone.

  • I'm not sure when it comes to going on a plan through HN but with Optus their plans are now usually on a month to month basis. So you can cancel the plan and pay for the amount owing for the phone outright. You won't pay any extra, you'll just pay what is owed.

    • Yeah that's what this sounds like. Cancel plan and pay $ x months left on phone

  • Just don't pay it. The debt will go to a debt collector but if you just ignore them long enough and waited enough for it to disappear from your credit report then that's all…free phone!
