The Lad Collective - Marketing Model

Hi all,

I'm interested in purchasing a set of their sheets and wondering if anyone has experience of the product and/or how their marketing works. At $275 at set (King) they're not cheap and appear to be focused on the marketing as much of the product. If you sign up to their news letter you get a $15 discount code but must be used within 7 days. I'm curious if this period lapses if they offer further incentives or is this as cheap as they come?

Thanks!

$275 at set (King) they're not cheap

    wowzer

  • I so want to try a set of these too!
During the boxing day sales they had 40% off selected sheet sets so the price was more reasonable, I should have bought a set then.
They offer a 90 Night Risk Free Trial - not sure of the details but I guess if you're not satisfied you can return them.

Just got a set of Lad Collective sheets in Queen size during the Black Friday sale.

I'm impressed with the quality and feel of them - very soft and cool, perfect for warm summer nights. My wife is super fussy about sheet texture / weight and she's happy too, so we're calling it a win.

It's hard to know how they will go with longevity, but so far I consider them an excellent buy despite the relatively high price - they're definitely not getting returned.

PS Our sheets were delayed for about a week for some reason, and didn't passed to the couriers. Without being prompted, they sent an apology email and upgraded shipping to Express Post so they arrived the next day. So customer service seems to be a priority.

    • Thanks for the good info.. What price were they going for in the Black Friday sales?

      • I think they were doing 30% off, and we got an extra 10-15% off using a coupon. So they weren't disgustingly expensive.

The wife deemed the cost acceptable, and as I said she's super picky about linen so I was very happy that she likes them.

God people who self identify as lads are the worst types. Couldn't purchase from them based on the name alone.

Hey adlays get a pass, that's a different breed. Lad collective sounds like a podcast of unfunny blokes with shit haircuts chatting a bunch of shit forced banter.

can only have so many podcasts about gettin' on the beers and splitting the G on a pint of Guinness

They'll also have to mention Irish Crickets every time someone cracks a tinny.

  • me: well the loop feature looks great in saving some time…

also me: checks price …wow, guess its just old fashioned standard sheets for me then.

  • For that price you're entering commercial/old school percale quality

    Abode (in Melbourne)
    Red Land USA

Obviously with percale, you need to like crisp sheets.

  • I think you are wight about focused on the marketing, but they do have a couple of convenient features. Whether the features are worth the price is something only you can decide. The other question is fabric quality. "High-quality cotton" means little. They don't bother to write the type of cotton or weave. This may help your understanding https://www.perplexity.ai/search/grades-of-cotton-for-bed-sh… {the little round dots with numbers in will open the reference web page from which information was obtained}

  • Sheets for the boys

  • Post about $275 bedsheets on OzB of all places. Lol.

Production costs are probably $11 a set.

    • 60% bamboo
      This is just marketing.
I agree they are probably made in China or Vietnam for $11

    • If it relies on social media/viral marketing, its over priced.
