The only other discount would be to buy 5% discounted Big W gift cards, which is available through a few different platforms e.g. NRMA, BUPA
Will you lose the discount if they (invariably) cancel an item on you?
if it is a single item you bought, then the total you "spent" is then $0, so no discount applies.
if one of a bundle of items is cancelled, then my GUESS is that one of two things will happen:
you either get a full refund of that item cost (unlikely, but 'easiest'), or
(and I think more likely) they will apply a proportion of the discount to the amount they refund
In the case of a bundle, I suspect that the cancelled item will be deducted off the discount so you end up paying full price for the remaining items.
For my December Extra code, they left out one item (Lego Wicked Shiz Uni) despite it being in-stock at literally every store I could see (including when I visited a couple of stores later). Ended up buying it from Amazon as it was a gift.
They honoured the 10% off for that item though, so the other Lego set that did arrive ended up being an extra $3-4 off.
This was the case for me.
Bought 3 items, I used the newsletter $10 off code and also redeemed Everyday Rewards (ER) $10 off.
1 item got cancelled (price was $35), I only received $10 for ER back via a gift card and then another gift card with the value of the cancelled item less $10 ($25). This means I paid full price for the other two items.
@firestint: Hope you returned everything! It’s the only way they will learn
@Repstar: Yes, planning to return and buy again and use the newsletter code again.

I'm confused by this statement.
If a $35 item got cancelled and you received a $35 refund ($10 + $25 gift cards) doesn't that mean that you received a full refund for the cancelled item, while still only paying a discounted price for the remaining 2 items?
@HomeAlone: Tbh I am not sure if my way of thinking is 100% correct. What you said makes sense.
Total for 3 items was $75, item 1 $35 that got cancelled, item 2 $39 and item 3 $1. I used $10 newsletter code and $10 ER and I paid the rest ($55) with gift cards.
They refunded $35 in gift cards, which means my net payment was $30 so I still got a $10 discount on the other 2 items?
I think I'm confusing myself.
@firestint: Yep, in the end you paid $30 for $40 worth of items so there's your $10 discount.
You actually walked away with a better deal here.
$10 off $40 (25% off)
vs
$10 off $75 (13.33% off)
Damn i bought so much last werk
Hmmm some Lego I was looking at in the over $200 price range, has jumped $30 since last week. So now $5 more costly!
So much for a saving 😂
A question for people who are really into Lego: would you, or have you, sell your kits after you've built them? Have you bought second hand kits, and if so, what's the second hand market like?
Asking as I want a project, but I don't have the space to keep it and I think I'd be happy with having built it and then never look at it again.
Yes many people build and then sell as used on eBay or FB marketplace!
