You only find out if you get the discount after you order, so it's more of a competition/luck (first 200 orders per code)

    • +1

I was also thinking it sounds more like a competition as well, discount not guaranteed.

  • might be in with more chance if you prepare your cart and get in first tomorrow

    • But DX prices fluctuate often, and I'm suspecting many items may change price when this starts.

Going to be very difficult to hit exactly 100.00 when every price ends in .99, .44, .60, .30, and never a rounded figure. Unless you buy 50 $2 items.

This sounds more like a marketing gimmick to get unsuspecting OZBers spending hours on their site looking at every item possible trying to add them up, and in the process seeing everything they have and buying things they wouldn't normally have bought, just to qualify… and then not end up getting the discount because 200 other people beat them to it.

If 1000 people do this and they only need to pay 200 people, it was free advertising to 800 people.

    I think I'll pass.

      A trap to waste time!

    • I got $100 exactly very easily. It's not actually hard at all.

    Competition. Bah! Humbug!

  • +3

If you add 100$ of items into the cart and add the appropriate coupon you will see if you are eligible for the discount. Today's code has already expired. You do NOT need to check out to see if you have 'won' the discount.

"We are so sorry but the coupon code for this round has already been used 200 times. Please try again next round."

If my calculations are correct (which they probably aren't) the next round starts tomorrow @ 9AM AEST?

    • Pretty sure its at 6AM (7 for me because i'm in NSW) on the 27th.

And damn about the fluctuating prices. I got my $100 sorted.

      • If you have the items in your cart and the prices fall, you pay the higher price that was in the cart, so you maybe fine. Prices are normally falling on DX. Although i havnt gone through this cart process, does anyone have any info?

  • Are DX products actually decent though? There's a few things in Cycling that looked OK.

typical chinese quality, don't expect too much and you'll be pleasantly suprised with some. I've gotten a cheap ass $8 automatic watch on last years black friday sale, still going strong and still looks pretty damn good. Just generally get stuff that's been reviewed already so you know what to expect.

  • Not bad - you can always find some crap you don't need to buy from DealExtreme.

    • +1

ooooh "don't need to buy" so it's free? :P

  • Anyone else notice that their clock is counting milliseconds upwards instead of downwards?

Perhaps a nice bundle that comes to exactly 100$:

  • Would installation of these be illegal or just use?

      Illegal…

Unless for example in NSW you comply with the following

Blue, or blue and red flashing lights must only be fitted to:
      • Police vehicles.
      • Ambulances solely used by the Ambulance Service of NSW as defined under the Health Services Act 1997 or a vehicle authorised by the Ambulance Service of NSW under its delegated authority.
      • Operational fire brigade vehicles and accredited NSW Rural Fire Service vehicles.
A vehicle used by a Traffic Commander or a Traffic Emergency Patroller appointed or employed by the RTA.
      • State Emergency Service vehicles.
      • Vehicles used by an accredited rescue unit as defined in the State Emergency and Rescue
      Management Act 1989.

The title "Dealextreme save $50 when you put exactly $100 in your basket" is not true. Not a bargain. This should be removed to forum or elsewhere IMO.

  • not a good deal.

    got up at 6:55AM.
    waited till 7AM.
clicked apply coupon for 5 minutes.
came up with page unavailable every time.
finally it loaded with "sorry this coupon has been used over 200 times."

not happy deal extreme. not happy at all.

  • Changing my + to a NEGATIVE vote … utter bullshit, woke up at 6am today to put an order in.

Shopping cart server worked fine at 5:59, then amazingly crashed at 6:00… three minutes later managed to load the cart page finally, and it came up as 'already been used 200 times'. What a joke :/

  • wow the shopping card page is mysteriously unavailable the very second the coupon becomes active. Not to mention item prices change at that very moment as well. mt sub total went from $100 to $100.71.

    • and now that it finally works it has already been used 200 times.

      • It's almost as if their cart server was under intense, mysterious load and then, eventually, the load went away as mysteriously as it appeared.

Coincidentally a coupon was used 200 times and had expired.

        • a bit mysteriously for it to happen the very moment it activates the coupon and for it to be used by the time it starts working again.

        • And there you are, the only one trying to use the website. Ponderous. Truly ponderous.

  • I tried the same thing, ready to buy before it start, it said invalid coupon code. As soon as it begans, shopping cart section crashed.
    I don't think this is legit…
