Remove Google AI Reply from Google Messages App

Does anyone know how to remove this button from the Google Messages App

I keep accidentally clicking in when I want to click into the type field and it's a first world of hurt.

Tried to Google it but came up with nothing.

I wish all this AI stuff was completely optional…

    Looks like the "feature" is called Magic Compose.

      Legend, thank you! I couldn't for the life of me work out the name. And then anything Google AI in search gave me so many options.

      I liked it for the RCS feature. Only one I knew that had it and have just used it since.
