    Only $50 and $100 Cards with $5.95

1,000 points are worth $5, so you will at best lose 95 cents…

Whoever upvotes this needs to hand in their OzBargain licence…

    • -8

      1,000 points are worth $10

        • -2

Qantas points have a typical going rate of 1 cent per point

          • +4

@TheFreaK: We’re talking about EDR points here, not Qantas. When converted, it becomes 500 QFF points so it’s still worth $5 with your 1cpp valuation

@foxes28: Have you seen any OZB deals on glasses?

      Absolutely hopeless deal

  • +1

    Not an Ozbargain

This is a forum post at best.

The EDR points for either card won't even cover the $5.95 purchase fee.

    • This is a forum post at best.

We would you create a forum post on how to lose 95 cents…

      • If someone desperately needed to earn Qantas points quickly it might be useful. For 99% of OzBargain users it's not worth it.

For 99.999% of OzBargain users it's not worth it.

How much on Chocolate Visa ?

    Not worth considering

    100 x 10 = 1000 = $5. Cannot cover $5.95 card fee?

No profits to be had, in case people are wondering what your losses are after taking into account the points earn vs the card admin fee.

Gift Card Purchase Fee EDR Dollars Earned Profit/Loss
    $50 $5.95 $2.50 -$3.45 ❌
    $100 $5.95 $5.00 -$0.95 ❌
    $25-500 (loaded with $500) $7.95 None -$7.95 ❌
    • From 20X to now 10X points, this is putrid from Woolies.

Might be a "trick" promo to see who takes the bait!

  • What happened to $500 variable? :(

I guess this would have to do if planning to spend a bit anyway…

Would these work to pay at Australia post for passports, or a body corp bill?

  • +6

This be a steal not a deal

  • +2

    2500 Qantas Points for $29.75.

    I'm sorry but no thanks.

  • Not worth the points for the smaller denomination cards

  • Let's see if WW gets any suckers for this deal

WW is always stingy. Coles does it much better

  • Lol don't buy any gift cards with fees.

  • Unless my maths isn't math-ing:

If I need to anyways pay $1000 for body corp fees, if I get 10 of these cards, I would be essentially paying $59.50 for 10,000 points.

    Is that not worth it?

    • You'd lose out $9.50
      2,000 points=$10.

      • Ah, I forgot that 10,000 points = 5000 QFF points… ye that definitely doesn't seem worth it!

        • Nah it's poo.
Yeah I don't do QFF but seems it's the same as Everyday Rewards points.

  • Only works if you have a credit card with a return rate of 1%. That way you profit $0.05…

  • Donating money doesn’t seem like a deal.

  • Terrible deal, only the $500 ones were worth it. This might be the beginning of the end?

  • -1

People say this is not a deal, but it's only 95c to launder $100.

  • I know this deal is expired, though these Vanilla gift cards are a burden/borderline scam, stay away.

I was given one as a gift, you aren’t provided with a PIN so you can’t use it in store. I tried checking the card balance online, where you can apparently set a PIN, the site would never go to the next screen. I ended up adding the card to PayPal and getting the money to another gift card/service, as recommended by other frustrated recipients of this card (1.3 stars on Product Review for a reason). These aren’t worth any sort of points promotion, they are worse than your typical Visa gift card.
