Bridgestone Vs Kumho Tyres for Honda Accord Euro

My Honda Accord Euro needs new tyres. 235/45 R18.

Any recommendations.

I am confused between Bridgestone $240 per tyre or Kumho $175 per tyre

Please suggest.

Also recommending these. Solid tyres; had them on my old Corolla until the car got written off. Did about 50K km over five years

    Honda Accord Euro

Doesn't matter which brand of tyres.

    • It does.
The Accord Euro (Sport I think it was called) that came with 17" rims had vehicle specific Bridgestone tyres that were a special code/order. For 90% of drivers it probably wasn't an issue but for that other 10% they could tell the difference.

On our tired old 2004 with 200k+ & 205/55r16 and some suspension bushing wear it gets Dunlop / Toyo / whatever name brand for<$150 is available.

Any car can benefit from nice tyres

Both will likely be fine for an Accord. If you can get them for about the same price, I'd pick the Bridgestones. That said, I've used Kumho's in the past and would happily have them again, but currently have Bridgestones on one car and Michelin PS4s on the other. :)

What's confusing? What does your tyre dealer say is the difference? Have you read any reviews of said tyres?

There was a recent post saying kuhmo have changed the factory and arent what they once were. But are they $65 worse than the bridgestone? No idea. Go check some reviews.

  • I had Kumho Ecstas (made in Korea versions) on the CU2 and it lasted 50,000+kms peak hour driving (got it during one of those Kmart car promotions ~$600 for 4 tyres fitted pre-covid)

Thinking newer Kumhos have shifted to made in China with lower quality (huge issue I've read is road noise/wet grip diminishing greatly)

If I recall now most of the decent tyres for 18" is usually $250-300/wheel so depending on model of Bridgestone I would just get those ones over the Kumhos

  • Depends on the model. Give more info. Both brands make budget, premium, sporty, off road etc. All kinds

  • Some Tyre shops still sell Continental MaxContact6 for under $200 a tyre in that size

  • Michelin Primacy 4 all the way! Don’t waste your money on Bridgestones!

  • Sounds like you have my old car…
    CU2 Luxury with 18inch wheel…

I'd suggest gathering your options for 245/45R18 which is a more common size to a Commodore…

    More sidewall comfort and cheaper…
