    These are like $7 on Aliexpress - at least the one I got was.
    It works well enough. Battery seems good. The ring isn't as loud as the original Airtags

      Same experience. Used in Japan and was semi-useful for tracking luggage. Also depends on proximity to other iPhones to pick up the location.

      For example I attached these in my 3 suitcases:
      - Flight from Melbourne to Hong Kong - 0 were visible
      - Transiting at Hong Kong Airport - 2/3 were visible
      - Flight from Hong Kong to Osaka Japan - 0 were visible
      - Luggage forwarding from Osaka to Hiroshima - 3/3 were visible
      - Luggage forwarding from Hiroshima to Tokyo - 0 were visible
      - Flight from Japan to Hong Kong - 0 were visible
      - Transiting at Hong Kong Airport - 1/3 was visible
      - Flight from Hong Kong to Japan - 0 were visible

      You are basically at the mercy of the ground crew, baggage handlers, transport staff, hotel staff etc. having iPhones that can pick up the signal.

      Most interesting was when I use luggage forwarding from Osaka to Hiroshima. I dropped them off at the hotel lobby for pickup at 10am, and I could see the suitcases sitting in the hotel lobby till 3pm, then moved to their depot a block away until around 9pm, and then going by highway overnight and arriving around 9am at the destination hotel.

      But when I tried again from Hiroshima to Tokyo I didn't see anything at all the entire journey until we got to the hotel and found the bags in our rooms.

    Generic Chinese tracking tags compatible with Apple Find My are around $4usd from AliExpress. I've purchased 8 to date and all work as expected.

        Yes, I got confused by the results and couldn't be sure what was a Google Find My Device vs a generic Bluetooth or SIM based tracker and thought maybe someone else had already done the digging.
