Smart Bidets That Have AVB Do I Still Need RPZ Backflow

Does anyone have experience with smart electronic bidets that have AVBs built in and whether a RPZ Backflow valve is still needed if AVB is present?

Brands like Toto, National, etc seem to have AVBs and the salesman told me these don't need expensive RPZs.

I have a Toto; spec says: AS/NZS 2845.1 Compliant With Certified Backflow Prevention Device As Per AS/NZS 3500.1:2021 No Further Backflow Preventer Device Required. Advice on Plumbing Code of Australia (PCA) 2022 from SA, NSW and Qld

    • Thanks.
It looks like AVB works as long as the downstream outlet is at least 6 inches or about 15.2cm higher than the source which is most setups

    Gross

    • It's not going to backflow from his butt into the bidet nozzle.
