Pull out Mixer Tap Kitchen Recommendations

Anyone try the Methven Culinary Sink Mixer Tap with Pull-Out Hose
Building a new house and considering my kitchen mixer options (can only get them from Harvey Norman, trade link and Reece)

Considering this one the Methven gooseneck pull out:

Seems like a popular choice on forums etc, but I was wondering how does the pull out hose part hold up, my parents had a cheap china one and the pull out hose used to just flop out after a few months has this happened to anyone with this one?

I have had the hansgrohe cento pull out in the past and that was great, I believe the pull out part had a like magnet I think to hold it in place? Anyway it stayed in place and even the way the water flowed out was like beautiful, just solid engineering. Although they don’t sell it anymore?
Looks like there is the m54 pull out but that’s like double the price. I imagine this one will be a solid option also?

Also was condensing the caroma llano, not a pull out, more of a pull down. Has anyone tried this one? Were you happy with its reach?

In commercial fitouts they're Pre Rinse Sprays and don't retract; domestic pull-out taps have a designed-in point of failure which will trash your cabinets.

  • For the price of the Methven, which is stupid, go with the Caroma. I picked up the Liana sensor for $630 ish and have used now for 8? Months. The thing is a dream. Sensor, in hindsight, could take it or leave it as we dont use it as much but for $30 extra, meh 🤷‍♀️

The permanent exposed rubber of the Caroma that clicks in vs the pull down is more like a commercial set up. In terms of use, super easy - just pull, point, click back. I actually like the rubber because the clean freak in me doesn't see something that needs wiping of water spots 10 times a day.

In terms of reach, I have a double Oliveri Santorini sink and I can clean the whole thing without issue. There is a turn restriction on the neck when installing so plumber just needs to ensure correct way (stops complete 360 swivel)

    • Cheers that does help, good point about the water spots

  • We were in similar situation, after testing the 4-5 on display at reece, we found the Grohe Concetto to have the smoothest hose when using the pull out and retracting hose. Some of the others felt really stiff and unusalble. Standard for us was the Mizu range and wasnt much extra for the upgrade to the Grohe.

Looks very very similar to the Methven you were looking at

    • That GROHE Concetto one does the pull out spray always go back on and stay on? Does it ever flop off?
Does seem like grohe is a good brand

      • At this stage have only seen it in action at Reece, seemed to retract pretty well.
We are currently in the building stage so don't have any of that installed as yet
