Cannot Apply Everyday Extra Monthly Discount on BIG W Purchase Greater Than $500

Hi, I want to spend $800 at BIG W.

Cannot use Everyday Extra discount code as cart value is over $500!

So I get that the discount would be capped at a $500 purchase, but I think it is wrong if you have over $500 in your cart you cannot even apply the code.

Anyone come across this issue?

but I think it is wrong

What are the terms of the discount code?

You can read it here https://www.everyday.com.au/extra.html

    *10% off discount
Extra Discount only applies to 1 Woolworths and 1 BIG W shop, with single transaction value up to $500 each, each month. Min spends, bag and crate fees apply for online orders. Exclusions apply - for details

Op knows the rules but just don’t agree with them, came here to tell us how he/she feels.

Why would I google my problem when it is (almost) quicker to ask on a forum.

It took OP 6min, google only took 2 sec, almost 😉

I think OP raises a valid point though. They're aware they can't use it for a saving over $500 (as far as I can tell they aren't even complaining about it), but surely it can be programmed into the website to allow a purchase above $500 but keep the discounted amount to a maximum of $500?

FWIW I have used my monthly discount at woolies in store for a $700 shop and it only took the discount for the first $500, so maybe OP will have more luck if they go in store?

You have a fair complaint. I wish I had negs left for those giving you a hard time.

Huh? Discounted gift cards are used to pay full amount, they don't reduce the total of your cart.

I'm guessing that this is one item and you can't split it up. Try asking in store, maybe a helpful manager could do some tricky accounting to get you your discount.

You don't need to ask in store, I found it works fine if you just go straight to the checkout and scan.
It's an online-only issue for some reason.

  • @mapax - I'm confused. What's the acronym for this scenario?

Gonna have to submit this one to the board because I got no idea.

i got caught by this late last year. i signed up to Xtra because i knew (thought) id get $50 back on a $700 purchase. I realised there was a $50 limit but didn't realise you couldn't even use the 10% off on purchases greater than 500. It's an unusual and annoying rule. Also makes it less likely that most people will hit the $50 max, since you'll have to hit $500 exactly

I had this issue, it won't let you apply the code at all if it's over $500 online.

But it works in store though, you can apply the code to an order over $500 and it will apply up to $50 back.

Yes OP, we know. It is in the Ts and Cs.
Thanks for reminding us, and as usable in store(see above), no issue.

If it’s in the T&C’s why does it allow you to do it in store?

All these people shooting off thier mouths that OP had no right to expect it, and turns out it's just a bug with the website.
