Australian brewers switching to 4.2% whenever they think they can get away with it

    • Must push them down a tax bracket or something

      • Must push them down a tax bracket or something

It doesn't change the tax bracket, as it's still considered full strengh beer, but yeah alcohol is taxed on the ABV %, so reducing the ABV reduces the amount of tax

      • On bottles and cans, not really - there is a small change if the ABV is 3% or less.

In 50 litre kegs, excise is:

No more than 3% - $10.53 per litre of alcohol ($15.80 excise for a Helios Dark Mild 3% )
Over 3% but not more than 3.5% - $32.98 per LAL ($57.72 excise at 3.5%)
        Over 3.5% - $43.22 per LAL ($90.72 excise at 4.2%)

Australian brewers? These beers are produced by 2 different Japanese companies.

      • Brewed by Aussies in AUS, I assume.

      • They're products brewed here for the domestic market, and hence trying to game the domestic tax laws at the expense of me getting a proper buzz off a six pack. Whether there's a parent company elsewhere isn't the point.

  • OP do you guys have pick up option?

Depends how many drinks you've had…

Do you come here often ?

  • Would definitely buy but the $44.46 shipping absolutely kills it for me.

    Postage to 3950

If you can fix this I'll bite, I've had you deliver before for way less.
