Pokemon card buying seems to be a hobby specifically for the unemployed dole bludgers at this point, how are you supposed to even buy them if you have a job these days.

      • +1

I don't think the people with a handful of change are clearing out Pokemon cards.

how are you supposed to even buy them if you have a job these days.

Preorder or wait for a restock.

You're underestimating how much the Australian welfare system pays to people that don't work. Also, they are specifically the type of people that would waste the money they have on stuff like this, terrible decision makers get's them into that position.

            @Purp: No, I'm not.

Around $500 a week before living expenses, and you think these are the people hoarding product?

            • -7

@Gehirn: Do you believe that's all they get in terms of government benefits? I don't think you are fully educated in the subject if that's all you're referencing

              • @Purp: Hope you show me those payments so I can forward them to those in need.

                • -4

@Gehirn: NSW residents receive 350 in payment to their electricity bill, 110 to the gas, up to $1000 towards their electricity bill per financial year and $1000 towards their gas bill on top of receiving money for not working, and that's just the start of it.

                  • @Purp: Wow, up to $2500 in energy rebates plus $26,000 in centrelink per year.

Probably driving new BMWs as they go out and hoard pokemon cards with all that money they have after living expenses.

@Gehirn: wow 26k for doing nothing, and still complaining it isn't enough….

People laughing at paying RRP of prismatic are wild

  • Found in Target today for $45, but only 6 available… 4 other people there besides for me…

Much quieter than Kmart, where I was one of 25 adults literally running in at 8am as soon as the gates opened haiyaaa

Just wanted one darn ETB! I got the 2nd last one luckliy :)

    • Theres a random target in the middle of nowhere near me, hoping they've got some stuff.
Really lucky to find an etb, hopefully there's some spares

Don’t count on it, I work at a Target regionally and I woke up with a text from my friend saying “There is a line of 30 people out the front of work full of old men wanting pokémon cards none of the managers knows what this is about”💀 Actually cackled when I read it. I am away right now and went into another Target and spoke with a worker and she said that people were arguing over stock this morning and fighting with her, I am actually shocked that people would act like that over Pokémon cards, really glad I was not working today!

        • Hahaha would have been funny to see. Tragic

        • They're speculators that have no interest in collecting or playing the game.

Edit: Though not good ones, the good speculators pre-ordered through multiple vendors.

and I'm sure the other 24 adults have zero intention of opening it.
Pokemon has become such a shit show since reselling and investing became the norm.

      • To be fair, everyone was quite nice and chilled… plenty of people were planning to keep/open it… but yeah, in-store is quickly becoming the only way to actually get someting!

        • Good to hear. I've just seen too many horror vids of the swarms in the US at costco tearing apart pallets of product.

          • @Originality: Yeah, I get it… there was also a limit of 1 per person which helps as well!
            Big W was 2.

People had already started camping out at around 9pm last night for the 24 hour Kmarts lol

Also, apparently no limit in Adelaide, someone took 30 :(

              scalpers ruin everything.

I know its not a deal but honestly this post was made with good intentions.
Let's make sure more hobbyist and Pokémon fans are able to collect the card s and not scalpers.

  • Incorrect stock in a few Sydney stores, didn't even get 1 :/

That being said I tried to look in my lunch break

  • Went to Lilydale, had a chat with the lady. Apparently, the site is having issues and showing stock they don't have. So take whatever the site says with a grain of salt, probably call in advance but it's probably sold out

  • Went to my local at 9am, they had the 8 poster collections, 3 binder collection and 1 box of the sticker packs. Guy in front bought one of everything, I got 1 of the poster and binder collections and the guy after me bought everything else lol.
