OzBargain Australia Day Celebrations (Not a Referendum)

Will Ozbargain be updating the website with any true-blue Aussie themes? Perhaps a green and gold theme?

Ozbargain does so for April Fools Day and R U OK, so surely, I would imagine Australia Day should be given consideration. Afterall, it is called OZbargain (the oz part is in bold but I'm not JV).

To be clear, this is not to imply that Ozbargain is 'unpatriotic' if it does not (and it currently doesn't). It donates large amounts of money to charity every year which I'd argue is much more Australian thing to do. However, I feel that it would add to community cohesion and would be a nice little visual change at the least.

        Australia Day is January 1st.

        January 26 is kinda New South Wales day but more accurately Captain Arthur Phillip's flag pole raising day.

      Please remain civil in this post. It's an important matter to many Ozbargainers as evident in the poll.

      What you are proposing is hypocritical - to remove the ability to suggest a poll through effectively a poll.

    Probably best to stay out of it. If there's any good Australia Day deals they'll naturally rise to the front page anyway. I get the impression OZB stakeholders are looking for less stress in their life rather than more.

    For the record, I am neither “pro” nor “anti” Australia Day. I am emotionally indifferent. Change the date. Leave the date, Invasion day. Changing colours… IDGAF.

    Final edit: The poll has been removed by the Ozbargain team citing that it is pointless and the outcome is meaningless which I find most egregious. I think the results of the poll were clear but unfortunately it is unfeasible to change a well established and frankly loved name. In good spirit, I will not be progressing this further to reduce moderation time and I ask that anyone involved in this post click an advertisement on Ozbargain to cleanse yourself of sin. I will be using my time more effectively by reading free Amazon ebooks.

    The best part about Australia Day is the day off. Life is short and I'll have fun.

    OzBargain really don't need to update their colours. They don't even do April Fools much anymore because of all the sooks. Imagine how Australia Day would go.

    • OzBargain has never changed its theme on the Australia Day.
