What's wrong with plasma? do a google search on plasma vs lcd vs led
Less economical (energy $) and efficient (heat) compared to LCDs?
and room needs to be darker…
And better picture quality… I'll take the few bucks a year in power costs to buy a better picture quality and a cheaper initial buy price
it's a personal preference — can do one better … i've owned both, and would choose LED any day for my needs… any day.
Interesting that you won't be specific about your 'needs'. Plasma simply produces a better image at almost always a cheaper price. I respect that its a preference, I just question people's intentions. I think LED is marketed as a 'better product' (actually I know so), primarily because of the price. People are drawn in by the marketing.
Great panel.. Good price!
coming from someone who has only owned LCD, I can't wait to get my hands on one of these. Only problem is cash is tight, looks like the 50" for me. currently ~1160 at DSE if you can find one
the price is not very impressive. the equvilent model I've brought last year was about 1750.
If you mostly want the size for games/movies (as opposed to showing off to guests) You can buy a hell of a good 1080p projector for less than that. 4 times the screen size.
Massive TVs have their niche, but most of the people buying them don't really get it.
Plasmas are not for games or photos playback. On the other hand they are excellent for movies and sports.
Who says you can only have either one or the other? Have both! I have the large plasma, and when we want a "movie night" the projector screen drops down in front of it and then it's 3m screen goodness…. ;-)
Nah! Panasonic vs Hisense? I have to neg ur recommendation :(
regie - are you high?
If anyone is looking for a brand name Full HD (1080p) 60 inch plasma - but do not have $2K to spare - you can get an LG for $997 and either pick up in store or have delivered:

I am sure the Panasonic beats it on features and picture quality, but at HALF the price it may be exactly what someone is looking for.
Just my opinion.. but I really think LG are awful at bigger sizes. I'd be looking at a brand name panel at 50inch if I had 1k.
No Man Cave ???
