Despite the Married at 1st sight ads that makes me want to shoot my TV - i have entered the 'very' rare period in which i watch 'LOADS' of Free to air Television and that is the two weeks the AO is on [other event include the FIFA world cup and the Olympics]

Currently watching Aiava and hoping she can get over the line

dissapointed most of the boys are gone within two rounds but alex de minaur was solid today.

Anyway anyone else enjoying the tennis, outside of the Aussies who you hoping to watch - in the womens i like Sabalenka who i felt bad for after watching the documentry match point [people sending her death threats etc just because she is from Belarus]

In the Mens i hope anyone bar Sinner wins failed two drugs tests and despite it being in his physio gel i dont believe he shouldnt of coped a ban at least for 12-months - kind of like Novak he is kind of the last of the 'big three' still playing but he has kind of won enough. - i do miss the Roger and Nadal days.

Also just add anyone that isnt American [Bar Sinner] can also win and id be ok with that

      It's incredible how this guy lives rent-free in millions of people's heads and how any mention of his name will trigger severe NDS (Novak Derangement Syndrome) for many of those people.

      I can't think of another athlete that is simultaneously considered the GOAT of their sport and equally reviled by a huge amount of fans of that sport.

          I'm referring to the people that hate him as opposed to those that idolise him, as the former are the far larger demographic. Australian media in particular always froths at the mouth when presented with an opportunity to sh*t on him.

        Oh no doubts about it. But there comes a time in sport where your off-court/field demeanor matters, esp when you’re at the very pointy end of the very pointy end of elite athletes.

        The thing with Novak is he has the unfortunate part where he played alongside Federer and Nadal who both had the off-court demeanor. Genuinely think that his haters (myself included) would be more amenable to him if he didn’t play in the same era.

        The other thing he suffers from is people confuse favourite with greatest. I agree he is the greatest but he will never be my favourite. I also just don’t want him to get to 25 because he wants it so badly (and, great player he is, I just don’t like the guy)

        Verstappen is possibly another one who would be in this boat if/when he chalks up a few more world titles

    Argh, yes. Every single year.

    Mens: Probably Sinner/Fritz vs. Zverev. - Sinner winning
    My long shot would be de Minaur. Hasn't dropped a set, so should be in a good condition physically to make a deep run, plus has had a very favourable draw. Playing Cerundolo who is ranked 31 next round.

    Womens: Sabalenka/Gauff vs. Świątek. Sabalenka winning.

    So yeah pretty much the winners from last AO. :)

    Commentators are so irritating and biased I have to mute all the time when I watch women's. Thanks to the Nature only one so-called ozi left so that I can watch others. Hope the GOAT would get his 25th here but not easy at his age.
    Dopinger should be eliminated. Zverev looks like German engineered. Women's title would not go to west of Poland border.
