    Shows Temporarily Out of Stock

    • Just checked, I’m seeing in stock still.

I was literally in line to collect mine for $1588 30 mins ago. Saw this and instantly refunded it. And repurchased it showed them this price. Got it for $1489 and got a 256gb micro sd card for $41. Was about to post this on ozbargain but you beat me to it haha. Really good deal.

    • You think it’s gonna go on sale more ? Or should I pull trigger too ? I’m not in rush

      • I would get it. I’ve been waiting for many months to get this. You can possibly price beat at good guys if you want it anit more cheaper. But be careful because this price will sell fast.

        • +1

          Tyvm

      • I got this for $1489 and the sandisk extreme pro 256gb micro sd card usually $92 at Jbhifi but it’s $41.53 on Amazon. Absolutely happy. Also travelling soon so claiming trs on top of this.

make sure you're coming back into the country with another person so you can pool the duty free entry allowance up to $1800, if they ping you by yourself then you'd have to pay back the GST refund..

I’ve been waiting since before Black Friday for a sale, was hoping it would be closer to the 1400 but this is till a good discount for now @12%. (15% to 29% would have been better but the 3’a didn’t do to that until just before the 4 came out)

        • +1

Yeah I’m exact same, i got tired of waiting so pulled trigger at $1588 until this came up mid waiting in line haha soo happy for $1489. Anywhere between $1400-1500 is an absolute deal for this drone. Lost my mini 3 pro in Spain been waiting to replace it. I’ll claim trs on this so theoretically I’d be paying $1340.

Thanks just got JBs online to price match Amazon for those. $1530 and I used $600 of flybuys points to pay for it. So excited!

  • This or the new Flip?

    • +5

This by far. 360degree obstacle avoidance, 20km range, vertical 4k also quieter. Flip only has front obstacle avoidance, and 2.7k vertical, also the thing sounds wayy louder.

      • Doesnt look like mini 5 pro is coming out anytime soon either. Want a drone to fly around and inside house as its getting built. Probably wont start building until March from my guess

        • Yeah fair point mini 5pro will come out end of 2025 imo before next Christmas. So unless you wana wait 12months this is an excellent drone.

      • +2

Was watching reviews of the flip yesterday, and you're 100% right imo.
Also to be noted, the flip is noisier, has less flight time, and has weird differences in operation dependant on controller/phone usage. It's also not stable in anything but the slightest of winds and struggles to maintain position.

        • I was so excited on the flip until I saw someone’s review and the flip got blown away by a small breeze. So bizarre.

          • @Levathian: Weird that the DJI website lists them both as having the same wind speed resistance of 10.7 m/s, when testing seems to show otherwise.
Maybe it's just a firmware issue that will be fixed in due time?

    • It kinda depends. The Flip has prop guards which means it will bounce off obstacles which makes it safer and less likely to get damaged. Better for indoor/cramped flying.
But the Mini 4 is probably a better drone overall

      • Ordered the mini 4. but then from reading it looks like obstacle avoidance is disabled if prop guards are mounted and puts it over 250g. However with obstacle avoidance I wonder how good it is flying through a house in framing stage as well as when the plaster gets put up.

At least the flip has guards.

        • You can buy prop guards for the 4 on ali for like $8.

          • @bargunhunta: Yeah, but then from what I have read, obstacle avoidance is disabled when prop guards are mounted on the Mini 4 pro. However the Flip at least has the front obstacle avoidance with the guards. Edit —- A bit more reading and it looks like obstacle avoidance should be turned off anyway when flying indoors and it wont really see and avoid a timber support or beam (house frame). So I'll just have to do lots of practice. Thinking that way points could be a good way to preprogram the drone to fly through the house in the various construction stages

            • @Sammyboy: I would consider Neo. Which is even smaller, hae propeller guards already l, can be paried with Rc2 and even FPV.
IMO with what you are hoping to do, Neo will withstand some bumps and crashes.
And depends on quality of video you want. And it might not mean you need 4K etc.

            • @Sammyboy: I'd be surprised if you could fly the 4 indoors down corridors and such. The obstacle avoidance is super sensitive, mine stalls when it's 1-2m away from an obstacle. Agreed, waypoints (can set them up offline) are really cool, and would be good if you wanted to get the exact same shots each time….

          • @bargunhunta: The clip on prop guards are really not equivalent to the full prop cage of the Flip. They add a LOT of weight (84g) and they are not rigid. They also block the sensors, and because they are not tied into the drone frame (just the arms) you are still at risk of snapping an arm. The cage also appears to be more widely spaced then the Flip.

            • @tanksinatra: Well be a (profanity) and buy a flip. I've never had the urge to ever use prop guards in my 5 years of flying drones, it's really not that difficult to be careful and safe

I bought Flip yesterday as soon as it came online on Amazon. Have been mulling over M4P over Flip. yes if money is not the constraint and you have been using drones before absolutely go with mini 4 pro.
For me it was the price and value for money factor. essentially getting the same camera as mini 4 pro for a casual beginner use. Plus I really like the convenience, portability and ready to use features with Neo. So it’s a hybrid between Neo and M4P which is what I wanted great camera in Neo

      • Just looking on JB the flip fly more is $1159. That’s still not cheap, but I guess $400 is $400.
I’ve had a first Gen magic air that I’ve learnt on (after the 2 sub $100 drones that broke / flew away in wind). The important thing I guess is your getting the secret sauce from DJI on the software with any of DJIs drones, to me this is where the money is worth it (for any of them).
Have fun with the flip, and by the time you’re ready to upgrade there will be something better I’m sure.

  • reckon this will be long gone before price match becomes an option with JB (so I can use the gift cards)?

  • -1

How much better than the neo is this? $1100 better?

    • Yes and yes.

    • +2

if you want Neo pro go with recently launched DJI flip. Essentially the same camera as this but half the price.

  • Got this with an extra battery (3 in total) for $1494 (plus $12 shipping) from Retravision during BF sales last year.

  • Also don’t forget 4% cashback

Out of curiosity, what do ozbargainers use drones for these days?

I got the DJI Mavic in 2018 when I was living abroad and it came in handy when I hiked and stuff - but in saying that, the rules were quite different back then (more relaxed is how I would describe) and although I’m not in the drone scene these days, I assume that rules are much more strict nowadays

    • General dicking around the neighborhood, checking out new constructions nearby, incoming storm shots, otherwise they're a bit of a luxury item. I haven't noticed many restrictions apart from the obvious airport zones.

      • +1

Ah, I thought there were rules around recording/using when 1) people are around; or 2) neighbourhood in which you can see into backyards and stuff?

  • I caved at 1494 during black friday from JB hifi so I could bring it on a trip.

With the Aussie dollar where it is today this is a great price.

For additional piece of mind recommend looking into DJI Care refresh as well

    • You can add DJI Care shortly after purchase right?

      • +1

        Yes.

How to Activate DJI Care Refresh
If you purchase a DJI product and select DJI Care Refresh with your order on DJI Store, DJI Care Refresh will bind to your product automatically. You don’t need to bind the service with the product again.
If you purchase DJI Care Refresh separately on DJI Store, you need to enter the serial number of your product according to the prompt page when purchasing the service.
If you purchase a DJI Care Refresh activation card, you need to enter your activation code and serial number of your product through DJI Care Activation page to activate your DJI Care Refresh service.

      • Its from when you activate it (fire up the RC and log in I think) and there is a short period in which you need to do it from when you activate:

DJI Care Refresh can be purchased if the product meets one of these criteria:
        - Brand new and un-activated
        - Aircraft or gimbal activated within the last 48 hours
        - Handheld device activated within the last 30 days
        - Repaired in an official DJI Service Center (within 72 hours of receiving email invitation)

Just got a price match with JB Hi-fi.

Good work. No need to wait for delivery.

    • Did JB Hi Fi price beat or just match?

I saw lots of reviews complaint about the battery life of this drone, should I consider the DJI Mini 4 Pro "Plus" combo version which provides longer battery life?

    • +1

Mine gets like 20min before telling me to land, so I think if someone got the m4p without the extra batteries in the fly more they’d be pretty disappointed.

  • +1

Worth to upgrade from mini 2?

    • depends what you use it for, compare the specs. I got the 3 pro for top-down site photography. The mini 4 pro adds the ability to set waypoints and use their FPV goggles. Mod: Private Selling in Comments not permitted

  • Am I the only one hoping this is an indicator of them clearing stock in the hope the mini 5 pro is about to be announced?

Finally going to pull trigger when that baby comes out. It's been out around 18 months now.

  • This or the 3s for $1K more ?

Use case, video (action stuff mostly eg cycling) and photos (nature based mostly)not professional. Have the original Mavic Pro flymore but two batteries have failed and can only use it with my ancient Galaxy Note 9, won't connect on any other phones I have tried it on (neither my S22u or my partners Pixel Pro 6)

    • 3S will be over the 250g, do you care about being a responsible drone pilot? If not I would say go the 3S, it looks to be 25% - 30% more drone for the 1K. But heavier AND faster in all directions.

      • Longer battery life too. My m4p lasts like 20mins before the battery warnings come on, wouldn’t want a drone with any less flight time tbh.

  • Hoping seller has similar reduction for the Plus combo.
