    Any bargains?

    Excludes HW-C450/XY

    Lol that's specific af.

    Also, where's the coupon?

    • I now am intrigued and want this particular model despite knowing nothing about it

      • +1

It's the absolute base entry model. Typically < $150 on sale.

    • Also, where's the coupon?

      Received via email

      • +1

Is this targeted? I didn't receive any email. (And yes, I am a Perks member)

  • Does anyone face this issue - product available to order but is unavailable for delivery, click or collect, in-store.

Looking for a value for money soundbar, anything worthwhile?

  • Can you stack a price match with the 15% discount?

    • +1

It has always worked for me in the past

    • If you've received a coupon code via email, you can. I was able to do it, but is valid only once.

    • Just tried for a C4 price match and it didnt work with 2 15% codes

      • +1

Same deal for me, dunno if i jump on the 95d or not

    • I couldnt price match then get the code to work :(

    • I tried and got told it was either a price match or the discount code

      • Yeah, confirmed. Perks code doesn't stack with price matching (via online chat giving you the unique cart link). Used to. I last did it in October.

This is consistent with the terms: "discount applies to the current ticketed prices of relevant products". Maybe that's new.

      No ffalcon, no hhappy.

  • Appliance central seems to have better deals on soundbar at the moment

    Samsung Q990D
    Appliance central $1280 (backorder)
JB hifi $1695 (inc 15% disc)

  • Nooo exactly a week after I bought my TV. :(
I know JB are pretty good with partial refunds on sale items shortly after purchase but guessing I just have to accept my fate with this being a coupon?

    • +3

High chance they'll refund you as it's also within 14 days.

      • +3

Unfortunately didn't have any luck. "The policy only applies to a drop in marked/catalogue price with us within 14 days of purchase being placed." Perks vouchers don't apply.

        • +1

Thats a shame :( I havent had any issues getting refunds in store before

  • Samsung 990D vs 930D? Any opinions? Is the 990 really worth double when discounts are applied?

EDIT: looks like JBs 990D price is just bad, so for ~1100-1200 yeah the 990D is probably worth the price increase.

    Two different expiry dates ?

Jb still charges for delivery even after 15% off

    • What has a coupon got to to do with free delivery

      • Its related to the total cost.

You need to add delivery cost on top of the discount at jb. HN theres is free delivery plus 15% off.

Also OP had a ninja edit i was replying to which he corrected on two different expiry dates. Check revisions if you need to.

  • Been tossing up between the LG C4 65" and TCL 65" C855, I think JB just decided for me

    • Is the TCL that close to LG's quality?

      • From a lot of the comments here and other places they're not as far off from one another as I first thought they might be. Major factor is how bright the room is that it'll go in by the looks of things. I had a look at both yesterday in JB and couldn't really tell a huge difference between them, but that's obviously running their Demo Modes and under store lighting, so hard to get a real grasp

      • It's not as close technically, but as humans our eyes can only perceive so much and as an "average" consumer even less than a dedicated audio visual-phile. Complaints about brightness are very fringe cases in real life (we're talking direct sunlight onto the tv the entire time, which is unrealistic in most applications or you should move your TV).

The most compelling argument for TCL is bang for buck. So LG is better, but is it 60%+ better as the price (2.4k vs 1.5k TCL can be had for) would suggest?

      • I got a Samsung S95B OLED in 2022 for the lounge room and just got a TCL 65" c855 last black Friday for a rumpus room with a lot of natural light during the day.

Honestly, it isn't a drastic/significant difference between the two. Sure I can notice that the contrast difference and slight blooming on the TCL, but for the price I paid ($1685 at JB) I been very pleased with the purchase.

The only very minor issues I had was how it there would be a slight sound delay when using my Xbox Series X with Dolby Atmos enabled on the console when outputted to my Samsung Q990B soundbar. But I just changed the audio to 5.1.

    • I got the TCL 75C855 and idk if it's just new TVs these days, but the thing is too bright for me at night, only tolerable with brightness on 0 - hurts the eyes on anything above.

      • Yeah I agree when using my TCL 65C855. I use one picture profile with 100 brightness during the day and 0 - 20 brightness during night, depending on what shows/movies I'm watching.

  • I think there are shortage of TCL stocks at the moment.

    • +1

Managed to snag a TCL 85C855 for $2,270 few days back. Think there was a price error at Videopro where it was advertised for $2,270, instead of the $3,270

Any way to get jbhifi 15% off gc's today?

  • Harvey Norman has the same deal, only today.

    • +1

      Yeah no thanks.

    • They emailed out unique codes?

EDIT: Found it on some items.
Get 15% off with promo code EXTRA15 at checkout! Ends 16.01.25
New Subscribers Get 3 Months of Apple TV+ Free

      • Do you know if it will work in store.. Wanted to do a price match

EDIT: checked with them. It's only online. Also they won't stack price match and 15% off

  • I got the chat to price match a Hisense AX5120G down from $599 - $474 but the 15% off code doesn't work. Was told its only off full ticket items.

I might go in later today in person and see if they can do me a deal.

  • Samsung S95D was cheaper last month, 5295 + the 10% off perk. Now its still about $300 more for the 77"

  • Why does the coupon not apply to this?

Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar with Dolby Atmos (Black) - JB Hi-Fi
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/bose-smart-ultra-soundbar…

    • Because the offer is only applicable to Samsung, LG, Sony and Hisense brand products.

  • Has anyone been in-store to see whether this works with price-matching + perks coupon?

    • Following as will head into store if the case

    • I tried. It doesn't work. Chat support confirmed you can't apply perks to price matches

  • Cheers, big ears. been waiting on a TV deal to replace my TCL shitbox TV that is slowly failing. None in my local store, but the one I wanted is at their "distribution centre" about 5 mins drive down the road. SCORE!

What is this excludes TCL bullshit

    • If it is anything like my TCL, they are doing you a favour.

      • what TCL model you own and what is the problems you have with it?

what is the warranty and ACL like with TCL?

What do you rate the picture quality/performance and google TV on the TCL?

        • I will have to look up the model, but it was something like Q8??

First up, it had a whole dead LED strip down the right side of the screen. It flickered for about a month and one day just died. It was such a common problem, there are heaps of fixes for it online that involve removing the whole back of the TV and soldering jumper wires in.

Next is the god awful software. I have to turn it on and literally walk away for 5 mins while it boots up. Once it has booted, it will take another 5 to 10 mins to stabilise enough to even use it. I can use Plex and Smarttube, but only after the TV settles. When these apps or any other app on the tv fails or grinds to a crawl, I have to reboot the TV, I can't just shut the app and force close it and reopen it.

Then there is playing games. It hates displaying anything fast moving. Games or sports on TV can get to a point that they are almost unplayable. It stutters and jumps and the footage can look torn.

Now the latest issue is that there appears to be something inside the TV that holds the LED backlights in that has fallen down and is touching the back of the LCD screen. There is a sharp, bright square shape pressed into the back of the screen. I have not touched or moved the TV since it was installed back in about 2020/21.

I got it on special to try this TCL brand and this was one of their highest rated TV's at the time. I thought it was hard to go wrong, as every time I go to Asia, almost every store over there, TCL is one of the biggest brands… I thought that it was hard to go wrong if they were that big.

I didn't bother with warranty because it can't be fixed. You cannot fix underbaked hardware. The screen LED lighting issues, sure, but that god awful user experience is dead. It's a hardware limitation and it is unbearable to use. They are not going to take it back and magically fix the frame rate issues or the 10~15 min boot up and stability issues.

To put it in perspective, my daughter's gaming TV is an EKO branded one from Big W. It cost about 1/2 the TCL and it is flawless. Boots up in 10 seconds. No lag in games. No tearing. No dead backlights. No UI lag and all the apps on it just work. The screen is bright and no brightness issues or parts falling apart inside. It is 10x the TV that the TCL is.

The sooner this TCL makes its way to the local E-waste facility, the sooner I can move on with the next part of my life.
