30k is very tempting but red is expensive as f

    • Agree waiting on gift card from econnex but left as soon as I could for OVO.

  • Did I read the T&C right, "Bonus Qantas Points will only be awarded once if you change energy providers and move back to Red Energy within 12 months. " shouldn't be outside 12 month as in waiting period.

    • Wording sounds fine to me - if you leave and come back to Red a second time you're only getting the points once.

  • Where's the love for NSW ;(

Roughly 15% more expensive for elec and gas compared to my current rates.
    AusNet zone.

    • Who are you with if i may ask

  • Does this stack with a Referral ?

    • I just signed up using a referral link from here and it automatically populated that person's referral number. I see no reason why it shouldn't?

    • I will try go with referral, looks like it is 2 different promotions

  • would it be worth it just for the one bill period?

    • Well you have a significantly diminishing return if you stay longer

    • Yes, especially if you have solar panels and usually your bill is low.
      Churn after you receive points.
      I will do that :)

  • Sign up to this and the Qantas Amex offer and you're on your way with a big haul of points

    • Is that the Business Amex offer for 170k points?

  • Thanks OP. I signed up to red energy via the shopback econnex deal, for the $80 cashback. It wasn't the cheapest option but I figure I'll switch again when the points come through. It didn't ask for my qff details, so unsure if it'll work? Also unsure if I'll get the cashback because I've switched via sb/econnex before…

Looks like $108 cashback now for electricity and $171 for electricity and gas

But when signing up with direct link it asks you FF number and surname. So you might need to contact them and see if they can add your manually?

Not sure if you’ll be eligible or not

      • Thank you. I'll stay on top of it and figure it out. Otherwise I'll just cancel. Thank you.

Can you confirm if you signed up to Redenergy via the "Red Living Energy Saver" plan or "Qantas Red Saver" plan?

From my shopback/econnex signup pages, the only plans listed for Redenergy is "Red Living Energy Saver", which should NOT be eligible for this qantas points.

      • Yep, was just coming on to give an update.
        1. I got my shopback confirmation for $80
        2. I got my Red Energy confirmation for the Living Energy Saver, Good Rates plan. According to ecconex, this plan would be cheaper than my current plan with tango. Hard to believe.
        3. I rang Red Energy this morning and they switched me over to the plan that gets me the 10,000 points. I haven't received an email to tell you which one. I'm guessing it'll be more expensive. But I will jump ship as soon as I get my points.

        • I think there is a chance that your $80 cashback be rejected in the future, because you changed your plan? :-?

By the way, why $80? it should be either $108 or $171? :-?

          • @mkowarkski: Yeah maybe, it says that it should be confirmed by 25/04/2025, so you are probably right. I will definitely be out by then. I did the comparison on January 15, after receiving an email for boost cashback of $210 for energy comparison. $80 is 35-40% of that, which is standard (it is currently $63 for gas or $171 for both). Does that make sense? Thanks for all the feedback! I am also currently working on QFF points for car insurance.

  • Prob worth it for the extra $20-$30 it would cost compared to what I'm paying now for 23,500 QFF pts. Cheap points really. Churn away after the points are credited.
