My first deal post, be nice :)

These are an asymmetrical design that allows you to sleep laying flat by positioning your body at a slight angle. They have an integrated mozzie net that is attached all the way around and the hammock itself is double-layer in the Jungle models which makes it 100% mozzie proof. The double-layer also lets you slide in a foam reflective pad or thin sleeping mat for a bit of insulation on colder nights.
A rainfly and webbing straps are included.

I've owned their Ultralight Explorer model for over 10 years and it's still going strong. I sleep better in that thing that I do in my own bed, it's so comfy. Great on hot nights if you don't have aircon ;)

  • As a multi decade owner, I can recommed them.

    • I concur. My kids fight over our mine when we go camping

    • I thought the same, until I made my own for about 10% of the price (only basic sewing machine skills needed).

  • "These are an asymmetrical design that allows you to sleep laying flat by positioning your body at a slight angle."

.. is there any further info on the website, to explain this feature? I had a look but couldn't find anything.

I've owned many (cheaper) hammocks and I know you can lie slightly flatter by lying at an angle… But not flat.

I’ve owned one of these for about 15 years. Sleeping asymmetrically made sense in theory and I was sold by their imagery of sleeping over a bubbling creek; but in practice it wasn’t perfectly flat and that made my feet go numb somehow. It also kinda wrapped and hugged me too tight. I also used to get freezing cold even on medium temp nights in a medium quality sleeping bag and mat. I slept in it probably a few dozen nights across 10 camping trips.

If I were to do it again now I may buy a higher end model if that made a difference, possibly getting the winter shell that they had. I might also look for a more rigid backing for a sleeping pad

      • No need to get a higher end model (likely will not make any difference) but an underquilt - that are now cheaply/easily available (Amazon/Aliexpress) - will stop your underside getting cold at night, 15 years ago they were not commercially available.

I found my smaller Hennesy hammock and underquilt was getting a bit cramped/huggy, so I upgraded to a DIY double-sized hammock and can easily find a comfortable position to lay in.

This shows the shape of the hammock, it's kinda extra space when you're diagonal. I'm not saying you'll be as flat as a mattress, just much flatter than a regular hammock.

      • Such a poor diagram if they are trying to sell the idea ! Lol.

As you've owned a similar hammock for 10+years… Is your hammock rectangular shaped when laid out flat?

Have they got any business hammocks?

  • Do you have issues when arriving at a campsite and finding it either very open with no trees, or the trees are too far apart?

I've seen some vehicle based hammock mount solutions but they are quite expensive. What are you folks using?

plan ahead, if car camping i dont see the point of a hammock at all personally. hammocks are good for something light if you are planning to go somewhere offtrack or remote, not really that useful at paid campgrounds. although ive seen some places have hammock poles, i wouldnt count on it

    • When vehicle-camping, its very unusual not to find a place to hang your hammock (the car roof-rack is one point and any tree/sign/shelter the other, and you can usually position the car mostly where you like).

I made a DIY stand as per: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/141977-Te… but it's also easy to re-purpose most hammock stands that are cheap/easy to find 2nd hand.

      • Thanks for the link with the very interesting DIY solution. Will need to investigate it further.
