You're linking to a comment about a completely different deal with a different telco. The same logic does not apply here because this is for a postpaid service and there's no way to turn "off" auto recharge because it's not a plan that gets recharged.
Source: Have been using Woolworths Mobile SIM-Only (postpaid) for ~6 months and I've enquired a few times about the possibility of turning off the plan, suspending the plan, or removing a payment method
None of these work - even if you remove the payment method, you will still be billed as it doesn't stop the service.
