Calling it the best all round drink bottle is a matter of religion, not fact

  • Thanks OP always wanted to give Hydro Flask a try

Two Thermoflask 1.2L insulated bottles are $29.99 at Costco.

The exact same ones that sell on Amazon for $64.

there's a multitude of equally capable and well made brands out there, but hydroflask came first.

you pay a premium for that reputation. the deal is for this specific brand of bottle.

  • +4

    Anything under 1L is wild

    • +2

Not if you don't have anywhere to put the 1L cannister in like, say, a small backpacker day pack.

    • +2

Tell that to my car door bottle space…. I can only fit 700ml and below (camelbak) so we have the 1L mainly and then a few 700ml for my M3… great family fun sedan except for that part lol

    • Why?

      • 620ml is about 2 servings for me

    What makes it so good?

      Hydroflask make excellent water bottles!
      • Dishwasher safe
      • Half the weight of a Yeti
      (18oz Hydroflask 320g vs 18oz Yeti 600g)
      • Excellent thermal performance
Ice and cold water still remains after 24 hours in Qld summer if you don’t drink it all prior
      • No fiddly 5-part cap that requires dismantling for washing, eg. Frank Green
      • Great paintwork and colours
      • Wide mouth makes it easy to add ice or fill with a smoothie. Even ice cubes from the Kmart giant ice cube trays fit https://www.kmart.com.au/product/giant-ice-cube-tray-assorte…

      • Thanks for a good run-down on its main points of value. I've ordered one for store pickup. Need a new cool water bottle to go alongside my hot flask for tea.

      • Are these ice trays good? Any smell?

        • +1

No smell. I did freeze some chopped leeks in them once. The first batch of ice afterwards was a little flavourful

  • are they easy to clean

  • Wide mouth, Thats catchy .. tempted to try

  • Good to see hydroflask deals but we don't really need any more drink bottles, at least not around this size.

Somehow I suspect folks who buy this brand are more likely to consume soylatte.

What is your hot beverage of choice?

      • +11

Guy's diet consists only of black coffee and cigars. He looks down on mere humans who need calories

      • +4

The scalding incel tears that rolls down his face while furiously defending Elmo on twitter.

This isn't the cheapest per se, at least outside of OzB. This goes regularly on sale for half the price in 3rd world countries (and yes, not fake products).

  • Still available in quite a few places

  • Shows $32.97 for me in Sydney

  • +1

We brought a hydroflask in America when we didn't expect the weather to turn out colder without knowing much about the brand.
This is a flask we still used 10 years later and still going strong.

  • Brilliant, Thanks OP!

  • Do love their quality, but yeah the RRP these days is a joke
