ascetics, masochists, and people allergic to deliciousness.

    • I ate Maggi as a kid and still buy them for comfort snacks. I really like the Maggi "chicken" flavour.

Also buy excellent Korean noodles… add sliced fish cake, prawns, spring onions/coriander and crispy chilli prawn.

Me and my white group of friends eat this but the non-whites friends dislike it. Same as vegemite.

    • I stupidly bought some maggi noodles on a 'bargain' here. They legit have like 2g of protein per 100g, absolute garbage.

      • Add an egg to the noodle to get your meal sorted in a quick and cheap way?

        • The point is that the maggi noodles are the lowest of low quality. 2g is insanely bad per 100g for noodles. I have never seen anything else come close to being that low. A high quality spaghetti will have between 12g and 14g

@Budju: Fair. Not a reliable source of protein. The front labels "made from wheat" while the ingredients contain potato starch, probably the reason for less protein.

I'd add an egg and some slices of meat to cover up for a quick meal in under 10 mins and also less clean up.

            • @bcYield: Yes that makes sense they are putting in other ingredients like potato to dilute the nutritional contents.

maggi at 50 cents a pack i still rather eat other noodles when it comes to it

  • Curious as to what the Ozbargainers think of these Nongshins. Any recommendations?

      Yes

Do you like spicy? If so then give it a try, it's probably one of the most popular instant noodles brands

Nongshin black is awesome. Been trying to find the bone broth one in Australia for a while but no luck

      I also like buldak carbonara

I like Nongshim Shin Black. It has a balance taste compared to other Korean brands without being too spicy and their noodles doesn't get soggy easily as well. On a lazy day I'll just put everything in my 18cm pot/saucepan with the following:
      + Egg
+ Inoki or King Oyster mushroom
      + Beef / Pork slices
      + Kimchi
      + Spring onion
      .. in that order!

      • Where's the noodles? 😁

      • I have to try that!

Chuck a spoonful of peanut butter in for seseme oil flavour by-proxy.

        • meat* and veg plus peanut butter, chilli crisp and chinese black vinegar.
cheese, kewpie mayo and pickled mustard greens are good to add too.
(*sometimes in the form of a chopped up aussie meat pie or dim sims)

Lol use to eat nonshins hot and spicy bowls for breakfast at school every day always gave bad stomach aches

Avoid the cheese variety. It's really disgusting. It tastes sweet and not at all like cheese.

I had to use stock cubes and omit the cheese flavour pack to finish them off

      The kimchi one rules

  • I saw Chapaghetti today, anyone know what it's like?

    • Odd.

It's the Korean adaptation of the Chinese jajangmyeon (fried black soybean paste w/ noodles)

Think the traditional black bean beef dish you get at Chinese restaurant/takeaways, you are expecting a dark-soy, salty and umami flavour

it can be an easy favourite on days you don't want the broth with traditional instant noodles : )

Has the cheese ones and to be honest not great in my opinion

    • stick with the original

        Will do

Wait. Shin ramyun black will not be on sale right?

    • +1

      Nope.

    • Shin Ramyun Black is on sale now (until Wed) at Coles - $10 down from $12 for the 4-pack
hasn't been cheaper at Coles or Woolworths for a while

You put Nongshim and Maggi in the same post, I dont think thats right.
Im sure you broke a rule somewhere.

  • How is the nongshim spicy chicken?

    • Spicy!

      • Is it chicken also?

    • It's so spicy. And yet, there's a smack of chicken to it.

  • +2

Try the Beef Bulgogi flavour!!!! It's on sale too
The sauce is thick and BBQ flavoured. That with a yolky egg and some green onions goes HARD.

    • Very few Woolies stores sell the Bulgogi flavour, which is an absolute shame as it's by far the best of all the options.

  • Note: Catalogue specifies 388g so may include other variants not available online.

Can confirms it also includes Shin Light (Non-fried Noodles) 4 Pack which is 388g

  • what noodles do silly sollys sell

  • \whats wholegrain chicken/beef ?
