Note for anyone using OXO tongs. The rubber part disconnects and sometimes disintegrates (becomes rubble) after about 6 months.
Had a similar experience with the rubber coated pull tab on the top of the tongs (but had the tongs for a few years before it disintegrated). There are sharp pins on the pull tab underneath the rubber so you cant really pull it off as a way to get around the disintegration problem

Mine have been going for a year and a half without problems so far, knock on wood. So not sure if something has changed, or I just haven't gotten to that point yet.
But they are a solid pair of tongs which is the main thing. The cheapies have wobble and bend and then the hinge falls apart in no time at all.
I think Aldi had these the other month, and nobody bought them, and so there was a pile of them at my local the other month.
