Edit: Heynix have a rep for starting fires. I ordered but canceled. Use at your own risk

Not a bad price according to the camels. A solid amount of ports and not a bad design for travellers. The display is handy for checking if things are charging correctly. I often have a lot of low power devices that need charging so I've bought a splitter for type A ports. Not the smallest 100 watt charger, but at least it offers more room for heat dispersion.

heymix has a reputation of burnig houses down

      • Heymix has a reputation among some on Oz Bargain for being low quality and a fire hazard. There will always be warnings of the fire dangers associated with Heymix based on this reputation and user's past experiences.

  • We didn't start the fire šŸ”„šŸš’

    • I just got this Ugreen one, and quite happy with it. At virtually the same price, it's a no brainer to go for Ugreen over Heymix.

Not really a deal at that price IMO. I have one. Charging ports work fine but you are mostly paying for the useless screen on which the text is so tiny i can't even read it. I actually had to get out my phone and zoom in just to be able to read the screen!!

    • how is the unit itself. feel solid and heavy or very light like hollow inside

      • +1

It's actually extremely solid and very well built. I have no complaints about the operation of it. Just the screen is basically useless (it does not look like it does in the picture.) Of course it may be full of sand too.
I did check each of the Active / Netural / Earth were all wired correctly

This comment about the powerboard is a great example of what Heymix will slap their branding on.

Some of these issues are confirmed by others in the Amazon reviews. What's even more concerning is that the product is still sold with issues after problems were reported in reviews. Surely Heymix or the importer must be aware of the issues.

You can also find photos of the torn-down powerboard to see what it looks like inside.

  • Order canceled on Amazon. Heynix seems to just rebadge other chargers. Surely the fire issues are on a model by model basis?

I've had one of these for a while with no issues. I was always hesitant purchasing but I will note that all the feedback about faults/failures/fires of Heymix products are mostly from 2022. It's now 2025 and quite possible Heymix has better QC or just use a completely different supplier. Obviously can't say for sure other than the experience I've had with product.

I've had one for years and no issues here too.

This one seems to have the same design flaw as the lower wattage version.

The pins are exposed if you use the extension cord

  • Bro for $60, just pay a bit more to get the ugreen one.

    • Do ugreen actually make them unlike these guys?

      • Yes. Ugreen is proprietary and self manufactured.

    • Have you got a link for that one? I can't see any Ugreen ones which have the same features / formfactor.

  • Why risk setting your house on fire when can pay less for a far more reputable 100W charger from UGREEN? It's currently discounted to $59.99 on a limited time deal.

    • You know what, I've used this one for a bit now and the 100w charging toes the line between uncomfortably hot and maybe a bit too hot. I use it to charge a powerbank up so it's only at max speed for an hour at a time though.

      • As long as the heat is spread more or less evenly across the entire charger and not super concentrated in a single spot you should be fine. 100W charging generates a lot of heat and it is natural for the charger to heat up. In my experience, my 200W UGREEN will throttle and slow down the charge rate when it gets too hot.

all those commenting get the Ugreen, yes they're probably better quality, but they're not equivalent. This one has 240v passthrough which means it acts as a power board, as well as a USB hub/charger. For some situations this can come in clutch when you're in a hotel room with only one plug and need to plug in multiple chargers or devices.

  • Bought this brand in a travel charger. Literally killed my MacBook on first use. Luckily Apple replaced under warranty.

    Avoid.

I have a heap of heymix chargers and not one fire. $60 for 100w is a bit high though.

    • Same been using 4 of them for more than a year, just recently got a smart plug so I can turn it off when Iā€™m not home .. feels safer just in case lol

  • Happy new fire everyone!

  • So what about the Novoo ones?
