You can buy refurbished phones from Reebelo and Green Gadgets for about the same price, the difference being that you can choose the colour and condition and in some cases stump up for a “new” battery (though take that with a grain of salt). Kmart doesn’t even let you choose the colour which is ridiculous.

Yup. Have purchased a “refurb” from Coles in the past which had a severely degraded battery. I’d be avoiding this.

Purchased a refurbed 11 from Coles for my mother and its actually going great, sitting at 91% and hasnt skipped a beat.

Last time I bought a phone from Green Gadgets (June 2024) I shelled out extra for "as new". Battery life was at 87%. When I complained and they said "as new" is solely exterior condition and buried on their website is that all phones are only 80% minimum.

Wouldn't trust them again on that one.

    • yea ive found reebelo quite good

    4Gb RAM in 2025 is a joke.

      Phone's from 2020 though

      • What was a budget option then, is totally outdated now. I understand the pain of users buying a phone for 400 bux, but they should realise that about 300 of that is for the brand name. The lowest amount of memory in currently releasing generations of mobile phones, mobile video cards, etc. is 12Gb. Even iPhone 17 is expected with that amount.

        • I doubt it, iPhone 15 had 6GB RAM, iPhone 16 had 8GB of RAM to handle the AI stuff.

Like always, rumours are all over the place. There are rumours only the Pro Max will have 12GB RAM too, all the rest will be 8GB. Regardless, Apple phones only need the 8GB for AI stuff, I doubt anyone buying a refurb iPhone will be planning on making use of that stuff.

@freefall101: AI stuff needs special CPU, not memory. It would need the memory if you would be developing own AI models, while in fact your phone in many cases uploads it to the cloud to process and downloads the result. Phone's own processing is very little.

          • @freefall101: Speaking of needs for AI, it needs a lot more than any iphone can offer, which is why iphones suck in AI compared to everything else. Don't suck in selling your private talks though.

        • If $300 of that is for the brand? That means there’s alternatives as good as the iPhone 12 for $100? Can you provide examples please?

Does the 60 days return policy apply for iPhone at Kmart?
