  • Is there a cap? Can I get a whole year cashback

    • I don’t see any cap, mate. You can choose from 24 months, 12 months, or 1 month. (VAT may apply, so keep that in mind.)

      • But isn’t it 100% cashback so you get it all back? Whats the Incogni mode on Surfshark+?

        • Often cashback doesn’t include GST. Also VPN cashback deals often lose out on exchange rates. I’d bank on about 95% cashback.

          • @sween64: Yep. Can confirm i got about $75 cashback tracked on an $88 charge to the card. Wish I realised it was going to charge in USD beforehand. Oh well, $13 for 15 months is a deal.

        • Incogni isn’t usable in Australia…it’s the service that helps to remove your personal data from data brokers in countries with strong privacy protection laws. The only difference between one and one plus is this. It’s dodgy business practice to sell one plus to Australian customers for $2 extra per month for essentially nothing

  • As a newbie, can anyone recommend a good vpn? It's seem many of them offer 100% cashback. Thanks in advance.

    • Surfshark’s up there, along with NordVpn.

      • Better than nordvpn? I’ve only used Nord so have only that to compare it to. If it’s good I’ll take the punt and give it a go.

        • Apparently Nord’s meant to be the best, Surfshark a close second.
Though I personally didn’t feel any difference per se. They are both very fast, no disruptions.

          • @Gervais fanboy: I'm currently using Nord on iOS, and notice sometimes my IG/Messenger apps aren't connecting. Almost as if it is being blocked. Is it just me? Or is anyone else having this issue?

            • @t25: I had Nord over 2 years ago, never had any such issues.

        • +1

Having used both, they're each great. However, I slightly prefer Surfshark as I like the app a bit better and I enjoy the lil extra features they seem to keep dropping. Personal preference I guess but for me its Surfshark 1 and Nord 2

        • I'm on Nord at the moment. Was previously with Surfshark. Signed up for this deal. Current testing shows them neck and neck on speed and Surfshark a teeny bit better on pings. I've had no issues with Nord over the last two years. Speeds were occasionally lacklustre in year one but zero connection issues. Surfshark (prior experience) did have seriously iffy speeds and sometimes dropped out i.e. no connection. Seems that speed is equivalent in my quick testing today. Let's see what it does in the coming months. The Surfshark app is more feature rich with two methods of split tunneling (include or exclude).

Depends what you need. What would you use it for

      • Don't play games, mainly connect to school server while I'm overseas, and also take advantage of paying overseas software subscription, such as YouTube etc.

        • +2

I think any VPN will work. I have used Nord and mullvad. Mullvad is better than Nord for most things. Nord servers are normally detected by cloudflair but not as much of a problem with mullvad. I don't know but surfshark will probably be similar. Also mullvad is better for privacy. Any 100% VPN isn't really. They are collecting some kind of data because nothing is free. Purevpn with its 130% is even worse. They are literally paying you to use their service. How is that possible

          • +1

            @HaydosK: Good analysis. Thanks.

          • @HaydosK: Yes both Nord and Surfshark seem to be triggering ddos blocks. This hasn't however been a showstopper. Just reconnected if the ip was being persistently blocked.

            • @OrderedChaos: For me with Nord that doesn't fix it. I change and change and nothing. Mullvad it still happened but very rare and it would fix it with a server change. It also matters where you are because sometimes it does help if I switch from the Adelaide server to the Sydney servers

              • @HaydosK: Interesting. Happy to do some testing if you'd like. DM if needed.

    • Whats benefits of vpn btw?

      • +1

To access certain websites with geoblocking or cheaper price in certain countries, for security while using public WiFi, block ads-trackers-malware with certain VPN, and also this ;-)

        • Omg your the best man!

Save me like 14 a month. I was considering youtube premium

And the other useful stuff also

  • So, is this valid for Surfshark One+ 4 months or Surfshark One + 4 months ?
    Punctuation is important !!

Basically is this valid for Surfshark One+ as well ?

    • A space is punctuation now?

      • When a product is called One+ it is!

  • I subscribed 2 days ago to Surfshark one for 2 years. It tracked fine the next day.

    • Any difference between Surfshark and Surfshark One?

      • Supposedly there is. Only new to it but can't really see any stand out extra features for Surfshark one. Probably best check on their website to do the comparison in features

    • Did you get three months free or four? It showed cashrewards but states three months free. Not a biggie but curious.

  • Id like to ask, i joined surfshark ages ago probably with Cashrewards link through.
If I join up a new surfshark account and again through cashrewards, am I eligible for the 100% cash back? (With new email for surfshark and cc)

    • Same scenario for me 😁.
The word from other posts is that the cashback site account doesn't matter. Just need a new email. I also used a different credit card in case. It's tracked. Will only know if I'm screwed in 84 days 🤪🤪. It's $122.83 on my card. Let's see.

PS: it only tracked at $107.94 despite the SS site stating $112 and a few cents. CR won't honour that though. Well speaking from Shop back experience.

  • +1

Ok signed up. Let’s see if it tracks.

    • Mine did, took about 24 hours

      • Alright tracked pretty quick. Paid $90.44, cash back $84.12

        • Shouldnt it be 100% cashback?

          • @vongz: It is. But I assume it's currency conversion

  • I currently use expressvpn. Are there any torrentio / real debrid / stremio users out there using surfshark with these services?
I'm ready to swap but am wary of speeds affecting these specific services.
Please let me know if your experience is buffer free etc.
    Thanks in advance. 😀

  • If anyone doesn't know what other use case for VPN or already have/bought VPN, use this trick below :)

SPECIAL TRICK TO USE VPN WITH YOUTUBE FREE FROM ADS WITHOUT PREMIUM ACCOUNT & NO ADBLOCKER INVOLVED:
    Read this
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/880322

    • My special trick for YouTube without ads is uBlock Origin.

      • I use uBlock Origin too in Firefox browser and also built-in in Brave browser.

This VPN trick could be another way if Google has found a way to show ads even with uBlock Origin installed …

        • Yeah, they are talking about changing the way they deliver ads so that the ads are part of the actual video stream (rather than separate as it is now) and there’s no way to tell the difference in the browser requests. uBlock won’t work then unfortunately.

  • Looks like this Cashback works with any plan? Can anyone confirm this works on the One+ 24 months (well 27 with the free 3 months)?

    • From reading the Cashrewards words, maybe only Surfshark One is eligible, not One+

The difference is only incogni feature of data removal from companies and people's search.

  • +2

This automatically applies the promo code "cashrewards" and its actually + 3 months extra not 4.

On the cashrewards site, cant see the code as being eligible.

Can anyone confirm that this cashback works on all 1, 12 and 24 months Surfshark One plans?

    • Tracked on my 24 months order

  • Does anyone know if we still get the cashback if we select a country that doesnt have GST/VAT?

    • +1

      With ShopBack you do

      • Cheers mate, might have to wait for SB to do a deal.

        • +3

I signed up for the 24 months of One+ and set my location to AK, US. Was charged ~$171 AUD and within an hour or so received a CashRewards email for $165.85 back, so works with a non GST location. I assume the $6 difference is due to carying currency conversion rates between SS and CR.

    • Hi is everyone just using AUD here and just clicking on the link from cashrewards?
I'd like to join but kinda confused about the no GST country would be better. What country we can choose?

Also with people who have surfshark can you confirm it can access ABC Iview with Australian server?

      • I paid usd. Yes, just click through via cashrewards.
just tested, connected to Melbourne server and am able to watch ABC iview.

        • how did you get to pay in USD? any special setting

          • @jes: i think from memory there was an option to select a country and state based on this previous comment
            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15988916/redir

            • @Heybargain: Thanks, any what's the rationale for you to choose USD?

              • @jes: I think because the comment was that certain US states were tax free… paying in AU includes a tax

              • @jes: If you choose set your location to USA and use a Postcode for a tax tree state (in my case I used an AK Postcode), you will pay in USD but also will not pay GST, saving you 10%.
