Has anybody had any experience trying to claim purchases from catch.com.au on the TRS scheme? Just want to hear of any experiences before I pull the trigger on the purchase.

As long the invoice shows tax amount and the ABN, it is all good. But do note that in my recent experience, the TRS officers do check every item so you will need to put them in your carry on. There was a guy a few person behind me who bought a heap of Dyson hair dryers and he had to hold all of them for the officer to see. It was kinda hilarious.
If you have bigger items there is an office you can go to before checkin to make your claim.
I’d love a AMA with a TRS person to see what the most ridiculous thing they’ve seen is.
Note there are third party sellers now on Catch. Catch only issues tax invoices for purchases with Catch.
I just claimed TRS on a phone worth 2K they said if the phone comes back into Australia I have to pay double the TRS back if caught with it.
Not if you have someone else carry the item for you, they’ll never find out
Don’t see why it would make a difference as long as you follow the requirements
